Utica University 2024-25 - Retooled and Reloaded

This was before a substantial amount of money was raised in an effort to go D1. The presidency turned over that same offseason. Enough money was raised to make it happen, and if Laura was still there it would have.
If my aunt had nuts she would be my uncle.

All good with regards to calling me out on a "lack of activity". That's fair, to be sure. I don't post much anymore, but I still poke around and read what everyone is talking about.

Unfortunately, the Hobart thread recently ended up being me and Bartman chatting with each other. For the record, we've never met and are not currently dating. :p

I'll say this...as a guy who's been around a while....try to assume good will. Most folks on here have no interest in attacking others....unless they are attacked. Then the "gloves come off"....and the conversations typically go south. I'm sure I'm guilty of that over the years, we all tend to get a bit "competitive".

And I will say this (one more time)....if Hobart can't get a 3rd title I'd LOVE to see Geneseo or Utica bring it home. No disrespect to the rest of the field....but (IMO) both programs have been close for a while....so I think it would be great to see them get rewarded for their excellence.
Well, what you said...

When this "Utica" thread devolved into an elementary school food-fight, I quit wasting my time even reading it. Having said that -and, for those who were actually at the game today (no one else need comment)- here's my take:

Fitchburg is like a bunch of other D-3 teams I've seen over the years: they have a dangerous 1st line, a solid goalie, and that's about it. UU wore them out with their depth and speed, and the score would have been a lot more lopsided had not the ice been so choppy. Utica blew several point-blank shots due to the puck being on edge. Shots were something like 48-18, and the game didn't even look that close.

I remember some pointless yapping last week about inflated attendance figures on this thread, and damned if that wasn't just as accurate as it was pointless. There were maybe <1,000 people in The Aud today, despite USCHO reporting > 3,000. There was a St. Patrick's parade in town in direct competition, and the game was a 1300 start, but yeah... it was a lousy turnout. Every other (three, IIRC) NCAA tournament games I've seen there were absolute sellouts, with every seat occupied.

Piros was fine today, but Utica's overall team D isn't anything special. I suspect that'll be their downfall, but I'll be there on Saturday just the same.

St. Norbert is honored to have an opportunity to square off with the perennial national power Utica Pioneers. Hope we can give the Pios a game.

Doubt I will be able to make it out to Utica, but if I do I will be sure to swing by Lowe's to say hello. What time is your shift next Friday?

Um, how is he trolling on his own team's thread, yo-yo?

Recede back into your hole in Geneva, please.

So, you post what you think is a rhetorical question...with the obvious intent of trying to make me look stupid. Shocker.

The irony is your "rhetorical" question shows you don't know what "trolling" actually means (or what an internet troll is). Not surprised - as 75% of the "pointless yapping" you make on here demonstrates a lack of understanding about the topic at hand.

Because you have previously shown you are too lazy (or arrogant...or both) to actually try and learn something, let me help you out. Trolling is not about whether you are on your "own" thread or forum...it can (and is) done everywhere. Most people would define an internet troll as:

"...someone who intentionally posts inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive content online to provoke a reaction, disrupt discussions, or cause harm, often with the goal of upsetting or antagonizing others."

Sound familiar?

I get that you are likely a bit dim-witted....but I have to believe at some point you come to the realization that the problem is YOU. Not Utica's hockey program...not all the "haters" and "jealous people". The reason your thread goes sideways non-stop is....you.

Best of luck to both Utica and St. Norbert next weekend...that should be one hell of a tilt.
