Utica University 2024-25 - Retooled and Reloaded

I have no conspiracy theories to advance in that regard. (Ask MAGA nubbie, she can likely come-up with one.)

I've been there a bunch of times, been snowed-on while sitting inside, had my ass freeze to the few (and low) aluminum bleachers, etc...

But my only real complaint about that place is that the sight-lines are God-awful.

It would be an OK place to see a game, if you could actually see the game.
I am so sorry for your discomfort at The Cooler. If there is anything we can do to make your attendance more comfortable in the future , please let us know. You may be lucky that the sight lines are not perfect for you, since you'd likely just have to see Utica lose as evidenced by the series record . I actually hope Utica has a National Championship banner hanging in that big beautiful rink you are lucky enough to play in, it might help you heal from whatever issues you have. But, I must say, I do find you amusing

Like I said, it’s Utica vs Everybody. If Utica was to ever win a championship this forum would melt. All of your material would vanish and you would be forced to crawl back into a hole.

There was millions of dollars raised in the D1 effort. It was a real thing and I know you know this. The only obstacle was internally at Utica. Nothing to do with NCAA.
It would be fun for sure. Kind of like when St. Norbert finally won. And then wouldn't stop winning...

I know it has nothing to do with the NCAA. It's not their decision. It has everything to do with Utica. I don't care how much money was raised. It wasn't enough for the entire school to get elevated to D2. I know for a fact they didn't have the money for that. And that's why I know they were never going D1 in hockey.

Almost seems like it was used as a recruiting tactic to try and get guys in the boat with the allure of playing “division 1 hockey”.

They did have the money, that is where you are wrong. It would have put an extreme strain on the school's already struggling finances, but it was do-able. There is a wide belief that if not for the change in school presidency, they would be D1 right now as Casamento was fully on board.

You cannot possibly be this cognitively dissonant but apparently you are. If spending money would put an "extreme strain" on "already struggling finances," then you do not have enough money. Period.

Russ claimed they didn't have the money. They did have the money, but it would have put them in too much of an uncomfortable position for them to accept moving forward. The last president was okay with moving forward, the new president wasn't. Unsure what drives you to try and talk down regarding a subject you know little to nothing about.

Yes, the president change put a damper on it. But I know from sources the school could not afford to do this.

I'm not saying a word........
You shouldn't Russ, because you don't know shit about fuck about anything really

And if you want to talk so much shit about the program, the fans, but then root for us because no arena comes close to ours? It's comical

Why doesn't Mr. SUNYAC go simp more for some of those poverty schools and go report for your 100 followers on Twitter, because that's all you do

Wow. The number of inaccuracies in this post is astounding.

I talk to coaches directly. I know exactly how they feel about Utica's bullshit D1 carrot.

Your arena and attendance is great. I never said otherwise. You don't pay attention very well.

2,600 in attendance for one game constitutes more people than have (likely) been at The Cooler all season long.

Do you have a point to make here?

And, more importantly, who TF cares?

C'mon....really?

....you obviously care...but not enough to actually read someone's post and try to comprehend what they are saying...and not enough to research (or learn) anything about the topic being discussed. Utica's reported attendance has been inflated for a very long time....it is no secret. I doubt anybody really cares THAT much because there is ZERO correlation to attendance and winning league titles and national championships. I'll say it again, just about anyone would concede UU attendance is probably #1 (or top 3) in D3. But when UU fans pop off about how amazing the UU attendance is (and then reference the inflated data), it gets a bit hard to "overlook".

The Cooler has had far more than 2,600 people in attendance this season...so your "we get more fans in one night than you get all year" comment is grossly inaccurate (and, again, completely irrelevant to my original comment). But you wouldn't know that because you spout off about sh*t you don't know...the sad part is you seem to expect everyone to believe you.

Fish - you repeatedly post ridiculous things that 90% of us read and then roll our eyes. When you don't "approve" of someone's comment you immediately resort to name calling, juvenile attacks and (typically inaccurate) rants about something not related to the initial topic. It's like the movie "Groundhog Day"....it is the same thing every time with you.

And while Hobart's rink has NOTHING to do with my initial comments, let me point out that the Cooler was renovated (enclosed) during the 2007 offseason. Utica didn't have a D3 hockey program until 2001. Crying about "getting snowed on" and "having my ass freeze to the metal bleachers" would have happened between 2001-2007... so you are bitching about something that might have happened 15-20 years ago. And complaining about "sight lines" is an absolute joke. What a great way to say "I haven't really been in very many ice arenas" without saying "I haven't really been in very many ice arenas".

Most people really don't have a problem with the UU hockey program....they have a problem with clowns like you that claim to "represent" their fan base. I'm done going back and forth with you. As the saying goes, "you can't fix stupid".

Holy Christ...now I've seen it all. "Pioneer 24/7" is telling Russell Jaslow that he doesn't know anything about D3 hockey.

Sit down, fella....you're embarrassing yourself.

Have you talked to the Utica coaches? Because unless you have, it's all 2nd and 3rd hand nonsense

And sorry, I did get it wrong, 177 followers 🤡

Mr. SUNYAC should stay in his lane and worry about some of those schools then.

I'm sure Morrisville and Potsdam would love the space Utica occupies in his head

Llama, I would be willing to bet you that Steve (Fishman) has never even been in The Cooler. His lies have been exposed on here before.

If they didn't have enough forward, then they had some money, but not enough money. So Russell is correct. They didn't have the money, because it wasn't enough to proceed. I may not know the inner machinations of Utica University decision making, but that is a pretty simple business concept. It was decided they didn't have (enough of) the money. So they didn't have the money.

You are either not understanding or attempting to twist the argument. The money is there, they could move forward tomorrow if they wanted to. It was claimed here that they didn't have the money, which is factually incorrect.
