Utica University 2022-23: Is This The Year?

No argument there - our line up vs the SUNY this year didn't pan out as well as some other years. But let's not omit the other 4 NC games on their schedule - Oswego, Colby, Trinity and Salve Regina. Not all bad...those are some pretty solid teams.

Not to mention that after the New Year, Hobart still has Norwich x 2, Elmira x2, Babson and Skidmore left to play as they battle through their in-conference schedule. Hobart will not go undefeated. As the saying goes, "steel sharpens steel"....and their NEHC opponents down the stretch should hopefully keep them sharp.

I can agree there. That conference will be a dog fight. Hobart is setting themselves up nicely for a Pool C bid nonetheless.

Aw c’mon…you know you miss us! There was a good span of time when a Utica/Hobart game likely had league title and/or national tourney birth opportunities on the line. Some really great games between two really good teams.

Anyone know of bad blood between Taylor and Heenan? When Hobart bounced and then the ECAC West morphed, I would have thought these two would have worked out a time-slot to play every year (alternating home ice each year). Relatively speaking, Utica is not a long road trip for the Statesmen. Makes me wonder…seems like it would have been obvious to keep this rivalry going.

I thought so too. But, all I had to go on were rumors from Utica parents and a little bit from the team itself.

Going on that, maybe there was some bad blood, but I'd have to think that it came from the East, because Hobart beat Utica every single time it mattered... And that's why we hate them!

Hobart is a great program, anyway, and I'd like to see one or the other team bus it for 2 hours once a year just to keep the hatred alive.

I just wanted to point out what a strong position UC (what can I say they will always be UC to me) is in right now both athletically and as a University. I don't have a horse in this race...so I understand I am sticking my nose into other people's "business". I'm typically not one to do that. That said, I am doing do so in hopes this foolishness can end and we can get back to talking about current events in the world of D3 hockey. A few thoughts I ask you to consider:

• You made your point - we all get what you are calling out and few of us would argue with you
• While I get that "words matter"....what Fish said really had no direct insult / relevance to your team....so why get so wound up?
• He has stopped engaging in the "back and forth" with you...but you are now injecting your issue into other conversations where it does not belong. This exposes the rest of us to your "beef" with Fish....which (I hope you can tell) is starting to annoy others on this forum that have nothing to do with your spat with Fish. Said another way - you are derailing other topics people would like to discuss.
• I've got nothing but respect for St. Norbert - both the team and their fans are first class in my book.

Is it "wholly irrelevant" to be compared to Trump when you ignore questions about statements you make and then others call people who question it names? Some who post here are more like Trump than they would care to admit or realize, so the comparison seems pretty on point to me.
