I don't know, maybe because I don't want to be offended on purpose~

I'm gonna listen to the master trol detector, and put the two perpetrators on my permanent ignore list.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

I'll get this compiled for you guys when I get home. Heading back to the airport now :(

I will say that I learned a lot about Americans here like I promised I would. Basically they are kind of fat and mostly grumpy.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

I'm sort of like that guy from Catch Me If You Can.

Love that movie, specially the scene where he recruits the tall Pan-Am girls and walks within their ring into the Miami airport undetected.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

Clarkson has the first three-spot jump since Quinnipiac in Week 7. Things are getting pretty interesting.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

Too Quiet on this poll especially considering some of last weekends results. It is not like the superbowl was that exciting. Game was over real early. Let's get this week started:

Divide lines moved a bit since last week. Beanpot this week will provide a little more clarity in the East.

1 - Minnesota (1).....W,W........Winning two over UND
==============================================================
2 - Wisconsin (2)...................Idle, still a clear second.
==============================================================
3 - Clarkson (3).......W,W.......Keep on Rolling, 10-0-1 in their last 11
4 - BC (4)..............W...........Another win, 8-0-2 in their last 10
==============================================================
5 - Harvard (6)........T,W........Win and Tie, they pass UND
6 - Cornell (7)..........W,W.......Two convincing wins.
7 - UND (5)..............L,L..........Dropping two to Minny, drops them two spots.
==============================================================
8 - Quinnipiac (9).....W,T.........Split with MU
9 - RMU (9).............W,L.........Lindenwood loss a big surprise
10 - NU (NR)...........W...........Keeping NU ahead of BU and MU. Big week coming up.
==============================================================
Teams under consideration are MU, BU and UMD in that order.

10) Mercyhurst

Mine is a mirror of USCHO rankings @ present. Thought about flipping BC & Harvard. Trying to stay away from ranking influenced by my own expectations of future results. If I considered those expectations I'd likely make that flip. Same time...cutting NoDak some slack for personnel reasons.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

1 Minnesota

2 Wisconsin
3 Clarkson
4 UND

5 BC
6 Cornell

7 Mercyhurst
8 Harvard
9 Quinnipac
10 Robert Morris

----
UND is 3-6-1 against UM, UW, and Clarkson. (1 road win against each of the top teams.....that are likely to host!)
UND is 13-1-2 against all other opponents
Still can't take RMU seriously, if I'm proven wrong so be it.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

God, so hard. I don't think BC is top four yet, they didn't show up enough in the second period tonight to deserve that, but who goes ahead of them?

1) Minnesota -- Would probably be higher except that Hannah Brandt is I think slowing the entire team down.
2) Wisconsin -- Obviously.
3) Clarkson -- Last one standing in the ECAC
4) Cornell -- Wobbles but not yet convinced that things are serious
5) Boston College -- Skarupa and Field on form, or everyone else on form? Apparently you have to pick.
6) North Dakota -- So hard to judge with the Olympians out. I would be surprised to ever put them lower.
7) Harvard -- They were definitely tired tonight.
8) Robert Morris -- Teetering here, they haven't shown they have losing habits yet, and Hensley is a goalie who can anchor a shock to any team.
9) Northeastern -- Maybe slightly overrated at 9 but a sentimental favorite and a team that is doing a phenomenal job of just showing up.
10) Quinnipiac -- This is maybe a bit unfair to them, they're doing a great job of hanging in there.

When posting this earlier this week, forgot that the standings were gonna be taken after last nights Beanpot games. With the results from last night I shuffled the 5,6,7 spots, dropping Harvard below Cornell and UND. As I indicated a few weeks ago, the short Bench and the heavy reliance on strong tending might catch up to them. The current stretch of games with NU, Dartmouth, Clarkson and BU on the schedule will be the acid test. IMHO ECAC order will be Clarkson, Cornell and Harvard in that order.

Changes from Sunday's post in red:

1 - Minnesota (1).....W,W........Winning two over UND
==============================================================
2 - Wisconsin (2)...................Idle, still a clear second.
==============================================================
3 - Clarkson (3).......W,W.......Keep on Rolling, 10-0-1 in their last 11
4 - BC (4)..............W,W........Another 2 wins, 9-0-2 in their last 11
==============================================================
5 - Cornell (7)..........W,W.......Two convincing wins, looked good this weekend.
6 - UND (5)..............L,L..........Dropping two to Minny, drops them a spot.
7 - Harvard (6)........T,W,L.......In Though stretch, and a rough start of it.
==============================================================
8 - Quinnipiac (9).....W,T.........Split with MU
9 - RMU (9).............W,L.........Lindenwood loss a big surprise
10 - NU (NR)...........W,W.........Keeping NU ahead of BU and MU. Big week coming up.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

Good stuff guys. I love reading everyone's reasonings.

1) Minnesota -- How's the weather up there?

===

2) Wisconsin -- The more western teams BC has to go through to win the title the better, I say.

===

3) Clarkson -- Looking like the team we all thought they would be. Wouldn't be surprised to see them knock off one of the western teams in the tournament before we get to.
4) Cornell -- Playing pretty well but it feels like they are a notch below Clarkson now. I don't fear playing them as much.
5) Boston College -- Total hot streak right now, Skarupa is playing like her early-season self, and the new top line (that doesn't even include Skarupa) has me really, really excited.
6) North Dakota -- Swept by Minnesota. "But it was Minnesota!" But they got swept.
7) Harvard -- They just do not look scary, at all. Was really hoping BC would get to play them at Bright in the quaterfinals. Starting to look more likely that BC will climb to 4th and host them.

===

8) Robert Morris -- How the actual Christ did they lose to Lindenwood
9) Quinnipiac -- Just kind of meandering along.

===

10) Northeastern -- Huge win against Harvard but they are still a little bit behind the rest because of their awful record. Still, I think they deserve the 10 spot. Mercyhurst is very close behind.

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

By the way, if anyone wants to change their posts from earlier because of the Beanpot results, just make a new post like OnMAA did.

A little more than 24 hours left to get your picks in!

I might include a graph this week for your viewing pleasure! :D

Re: USCHO Women's Hockey Posters Poll

1) Minnesota -- How's the weather up there?.

Today Probably much better than down where you are. We have a nice quiet cloudy day up here, while my D tells me that there is another North Easter brewing.

Just heard the I84 is actually closed. Sometimes I wonder with all your emergency declarations. That is like the third one already this winter. Sounds like the GTA. I drove home last Saturday night from Ithaca, pouring rain at first, but further north through a foot of fresh snow. I guess we are better equipped to deal with it up here, and we have a mandatory snow tire policy in our region to ensure everyone is equipped to drive in those conditions.
