Re: US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II
Seriously? "Gee, I think I will risk making the U18 team to play in ONE game in a HIGH SCHOOL tournament."
I don't know if they will be naming the U18 National team from this camp, but there are 28 attendees and only 21 (possibly 22) roster spots up for grabs. Aside from potential injury, these kids will be going through grueling on and off-ice testing and will need to be fully rested. I wouldn't even be out shopping this week, nor do anything more strenuous than opening presents tomorrow. Lots of stretching and hydrating.
According to the USA Hockey site the festival begins on the 27th, not the 26th: http://u18womensworlds.usahockey.com/news_article/show/318758?referrer_id=804107
Curious because at least six of these girls from Minnesota would otherwise be involved in very competitive high school Holiday Tournaments that begin on the 26th. Would they play with their high school team for that one day, or would they be wise to rest up so they're at their best for the Festival?
