US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Re: US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Nobody's picking Stecklein, is she over looked or forgotten? Or has she withdrawn or ineligible for the event?

I suspect the real reason is that few could spell her name, you know, they couldn't quite resolve that I before E except after C thing

Linkfest:

Seems like Meghan Duggan will be playing for the Blades after all, hooray! Don't envy her the six hour drive though. http://u18womensworlds.usahockey.com/news_article/show/420372?referrer_id=

Interview post-camp with Kacey Bellamy and Dani Cameranesi. Seems to confirm that the Sunday scrimmage was much tighter, though sadly without giving the score or scorers. The Cameranesi interview is also nice because at the end the interviewer calls her "Cameron" as if it was her first name and she does a barely perceptible double-take. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hOptHaOhLnA

Interview with Anne Schleper about good hockey parenting, sadly without touching on the important question of whether or not she'll be playing for the Blades this year. https://play-positive.libertymutual.com/article/2033/TAKE-5-with-USA-Hockey's-Anne-Schleper

Score was 3 - 0 White (Bellamy's team) I honestly can't remember who got the goals though. Not Keller;)

The Four Nations Cup is November 4-8, affecting the following games http://www.uscho.com/scoreboard/division-i-women/2014-2015/composite-schedule/#ixzz3DqRGEX7H:

Tue. 11/4/2014 7:00 ET Connecticut @ Brown NC
Fri. 11/7/2014 7:00 CT Robert Morris @ Lindenwood CH
Fri. 11/7/2014 7:00 ET Mercyhurst @ Syracuse CH

Sat. 11/8/2014 2:00 ET Vermont @ New Hampshire HE
Sat. 11/8/2014 1:00 CT Ohio State @ Minnesota State WC
Sat. 11/8/2014 2:00 ET Maine @ Brown NC
Sat. 11/8/2014 4:00 ET Penn State @ Colgate NC
Sat. 11/8/2014 3:00 ET RIT @ Princeton NC
Sat. 11/8/2014 3:00 ET St. Cloud State @ Rensselaer NC
Sat. 11/8/2014 Dartmouth vs. St. Lawrence NC
Sat. 11/8/2014 4:00 ET Boston University @ Yale NC
Sun. 11/9/2014 2:00 ET Vermont @ Boston College HE
Sun. 11/9/2014 2:00 ET Connecticut @ Providence HE

Three of these are likely to be affected by teams losing players to national squads: BC @ Northeastern, BU @ Yale, Vermont @ BC. Dangerous weekend for BC in the pairwise with the firepower we might lose and playing two very solid teams; NU should be a TUC this year (though they'll probably lose Coyne and possibly Savage), and Vermont are not to be sniffed at (though they may lose Pelkey). BU is also likely to lose Poulin and Lefort and will be playing a Yale who still have Staenz.

Meanwhile, the other strong teams at serious risk of losing players (Minny, Wisco, Clarkson, Cornell, Harvard) haven't scheduled any games for that weekend. How did BC let this happen?

If Megan Keller is one of the 8 it'll be like losing 16
If you lose 8 players to 4 Nations, Team USA will be in bad shape as well. :( I think the most you lose is 5, because I doubt Capizzano is yet in the mix for the Canadian senior national team, and after a while the US players are competing for the same spots.

D: Pucci, Schleper
G: Vetter

Additions:
F: Brandt, Cameranesi, Darkangelo, Pankowski, Pelkey, Savage, Skarupa, Trivigno
D: Pfalzer
G: Rigsby

I'm hoping they reform the Skarupa-Brandt-Cameranesi SUPERLINE. That line was the best. Surprised D'Oench didn't make it but otherwise these seem like reasonable picks. I assume J Lam and Duggan had other commitments rather than not being selected.

Re: US National Teams: U30s & Mrs. Potter, U22s, U18s Part II

Apparently the players who are at Four Nations also won't be available for games from 11/1 on, which are:

Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 ET Robert Morris @ Mercyhurst CH
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 ET Lindenwood @ RIT CH
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 ET Penn State @ Syracuse CH
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 ET St. Lawrence @ Brown EC
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 ET Princeton @ Colgate EC
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 ET Quinnipiac @ Cornell EC
Sat. 11/1/2014 4:00 ET Rensselaer @ Dartmouth EC
Sat. 11/1/2014 4:00 ET Union @ Harvard EC
Sat. 11/1/2014 4:00 ET Clarkson @ Yale EC
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 ET Maine @ Northeastern HE
Sat. 11/1/2014 7:00 ET Boston College @ Providence HE
Sat. 11/1/2014 1:00 ET St. Cloud State @ Ohio State WC
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 CT Minnesota State @ Minnesota-Duluth WC
Sat. 11/1/2014 4:00 CT Bemidji State @ Minnesota WC
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 CT Wisconsin @ North Dakota WC
Sat. 11/1/2014 1:00 ET Sacred Heart @ Holy Cross NC

Sun. 11/2/2014 2:00 ET Connecticut @ Vermont HE
Sun. 11/2/2014 3:00 CT Minnesota State @ Minnesota-Duluth WC

This introduces a whole slew of games that might be affected by the tournament (including possible effects from Team Canada, which hasn't been announced yet):

Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 ET Lindenwood @ RIT CH
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 ET Quinnipiac @ Cornell EC
Sat. 11/1/2014 4:00 ET Union @ Harvard EC
Sat. 11/1/2014 4:00 ET Clarkson @ Yale EC
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 ET Maine @ Northeastern HE
Sat. 11/1/2014 7:00 ET Boston College @ Providence HE
Sat. 11/1/2014 4:00 CT Bemidji State @ Minnesota WC
Sat. 11/1/2014 3:00 CT Wisconsin @ North Dakota WC
Sun. 11/2/2014 3:00 ET New Hampshire @ Boston University HE
Sun. 11/2/2014 2:00 ET Connecticut @ Vermont

Most intriguing here has got to be Wisconsin without Pankowski and possibly Nurse against North Dakota, but Clarkson might be without Ambrose and MacAulay for Yale. Minnesota, on the other hand, probably don't need Stecklein to fend off Bemidji, and New Hampshire may fancy their chances against a stripped-down BU but I'm not sure I do... UConn could be a trap for Vermont though.

Minnesota, on the other hand, probably don't need Stecklein to fend off Bemidji . . .

We're also going to be missing Brandt and Cameranesi from a team that has a total of 18 skaters on the roster. So we really will be a three line team that weekend.

Brand new arena 400 yds from my home. Very big coup for the city. And Hux, it's St. Kitts, not St. Cats.

You sounded like you wanted to be connected to the area. I guess you just wanted to be you. Eat away.
