"He who has the gold makes the rules"?
Well, firmly in the sense of the golden rule.

I'm taking a nap. Maybe when I get up Mubarak will be gone. Odds?
The odds are better that there will be another hundred dead, I'm afraid.
aggression also in aswan, asiut and luxor today. friend there told me. no one there to cover the stories.
moment of tension. ppl whistle to warn thugs are coming. Everyone rushes to protect entrances. They prepare for an attack but none comes yet
Reporter on @AJEnglish says it became nearly impossible to perform her job cuz thugs made the atmosphere extremely tense & scary

Tweets from #Tahrir say Mubarak govt set to launch another onslaught against pro-democracy movement.
Thank you for following another day of Al Jazeera's live blogging- we continue on a new post for February 4 here http://aje.me/gRmSnf
Like our coverage from #Egypt? Think we should be shown on US TV? It's time to #DemandAlJazeera http://aje.me/demandAJ
it looks like our protesters in tahrir are protecting our army from Mubarak's thugs
I know u ppl will think I am exagerating but Tahrir square is the safest place in cairo right now! And it is cozy![]()
The toughest attacks were yesterday and still failed. Everything else today fades in comparison. We're doing great, really.
Aljazeera live shot of Tahrir had to be pulled as it was putting our lives at risk. Will be back up as soon as its safe
I've just walked around Tahrir. No trucks shipping thugs, no people getting slaughtered, and the few thugs on the bridge are bored.
Former Nile TV host Shahira Amin tells the BBC why she quit her job: "We were not allowed to report on what was happening in Tahrir Square."
Quiet in many parts of the city. At home and in Tahrir, many are sleeping, trying to get rest before tomorrow's protests
The BBC's Barbara Plett reports on the UN's decision to pull its staff out of Egypt: "The UN has a range of humanitarian and cultural agencies based in Egypt. There've been no attacks on them, but hundreds of non essential staff members and their families have been flown to Cyprus. UN spokesmen said the security situation in Cairo was deemed volatile and unstable; they also said technical problems - such as the government blocking the internet - had made it difficult to work.
So question...Anderson Cooper is reporting from an "undisclosed location." How much of this is needed? Or how much of it is CNN playing up the "Anderson Cooper was attacked and is now underground" angle?
Hasn't he been attacked twice now?

Probably a little of both. Other networks are broadcasting openly, but some have been attacked, too. It doesn't do a whole lot of good for him to broadcast from a "secret location" with the shades drawn, because he can't see anything that is going on outside. All he has done for 2 hours is show us footage from yesterday. Then again, AJE has a blogger on and the host is trying real hard not to bust out laughing because the guy is (unintentionally) funny. If you listen to what he says, he makes sense, but how he gets there is a riot.
CNN switched to CNN International.
CNN switched to CNN International.
Now we're going back to Piers Morgan (allegedly). We're still watching CNNi though...
Ugh, there's Piers. FML
The NY Times reports the Obama admin is now discussing a proposal w/ Egyptian officials that would remove Mubarak immediately
Our producer says there's a security build-up at Tahrir Square, troops in riot gear standing next to tanks http://aje.me/ajelive
Here is the insane video of police car running ppl over. Thanks irene! RT @irenefanous: http://youtu.be/gmqv6V7uHoI
