Along the Boards thinks that Lowell is a top contender for the National Title this year.

The Hockey East media day will be on September 21.

Mike also picked Lowell to win Hockey East in his Hockey East Writer's pre-season ballot.

I know recruiting news has been quiet for awhile, but I've got to imagine all of this turnover with the staff has made recruiting more difficult? Hopefully we'll see some recruiting activity once all of these new guys have settled in.

Also I'm surprised at all of the positive attention Lowell is getting. Mike's pick, that ATB article, i've even noticed many of the posters on the Maine board are high on Lowell this season.

Don't get me wrong, I think the team will be solid, but my expectations are another top 4 finish and hopefully an NCAA bid this time around.

I will bite - So why aren't you as high as others? Curious to know your reason.

I'll counter... see it when I believe it. Right now I think its mostly on coach's reputation. While I believe a bit in the magic man I'm not sure we have all the rabbits needed to go. I dunno, I take it as wait and see. That and every season has had a swoon so it really depends on how well we survive the swoon season.

A.J. White and Michael Kapla are your co-captains this season. Joe Gambardella and Adam Chapie will wear A's.

I just think a first place regular season finish is a stretch. Believe me, I hope I am wrong. Now that the polls are out, Lowell is about where I thought they would be.

It's certainly possible. You have the pieces in place. However, the author's credibility is questionable given the fact that he picked NU for 5th partly based on the scoring of a player, Mike Szmatula, who transferred to Minnesota three months ago. I wonder if he knows when the season begins.

Yeah, I noticed a couple of mistakes as well (including Boyle being listed as a Junior).
