UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

Re: UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

The schedule has been released: http://www.goriverhawks.com/news/2012/6/7/MICE_0607125827.aspx?path=mhockey

The game at Harvard is on a Monday night opposite a Patriots MNF game. Who thought that was a good idea?

Sunday night games at BC, at UMass, and at Orono?

Going to Clarkson and Vermont on back-to-back weekends?

Yeah, I'm not that thrilled with this schedule right now.

Weird weird schedule. Here's the worst part, from December 9th through February 15th, Lowell plays two home games while playing 11 road games. Ouch.

On a more stylistic front... dear god is that schedule difficult to read. Need both your eyes wide open and even then it doesn't give the days of the week.

Looks like another sunday night at BU... you don't suppose NBCSports is playing a role in this?

edit: err... I think you meant BU instead of BC.

This link shows a preview of the new suites along with other group information.

http://www.goriverhawks.com/sports/2012/6/6/general_0606124020.aspx

Those suites look really nice. It doesn't look like the improvements will decrease capacity that much as the picture shows some seats where the last 2 rows were located.

The schedule is.........interesting. Need to take care of business at home before the new year as we only have 6 home games in January, February and March.

Re: UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

10/28 is a Sunday. At least it's at 4PM.

Yes, but its not Sunday night... hopefully somebody will explain why the schedule is like that... because its not really encouraging.

BC has a home football game on Saturday 10/27. The time is TBA. That's my only guess as to why our game is on Sunday.

Re: UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

I'd imagine this will result in even more face-offs going forward.

Seems like a solution in search of a problem... defensive zone will get annoying if they don't allow it... offensive zone will be crazy silly if they do... Can you imagine a diving hand-pass across goal? I mean, it'd be fun to watch... but from a safety perspective and whatnot... I'd have to imagine it'll change the game a bit.

I will agree that its good that they've mostly stayed away from the crazy this go around.

Re: UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

Schedule is about what I'd expect. Wish I could make the trip out to Colorado this year, but will have to settle for Clarkson and/or Vermont for my long road trip of the season. Looking forward to this year more than any I can remember. It's pretty much been a sin to have expectations the last few seasons, not sure what to do now... :D

Re: UML 2012 Offseason Thread: "If this is a dream, don't wake me!"

Definitely not a fan of the no hand pass rule, everything else seems fine.

With this change of the hand pass rule, there will be no hand passes regardless of where it takes place on the ice.
This just goes back to the original rule.

based on the schedule as is, I guess there is no room for a Fenway game, if they were ever planning something for next year.

Go-UML just found this and posted it on FB, but it's a nice ad...

Northeastern forward Steve Quailer has decided to forgo his final season of eligibility with Northeastern. He signs with Montreal.
