Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

From what I was told, there will likely be a couple of new faces after the break.

I'm not sure how I feel about this... that is bringing in guys mid-year... because to me that sounds like players that can't/won't be sticking around long... its different if its a guy like Scheu... or if its a necessity in case of problems like Mammola.

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

Neither had really dressed, new coach, recruits coming in next year. More of a seeing the handwriting on the wall kind of thing. Caveney will be playing at Fitchburg State, don't know about Badger.

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

While he did leave a Hockey East program, he is only playing in the CJ. He still retains eligibility and may just not have found Maine as a great fit. Clearly speculating on that, but at least it's not a loss to Major Junior.

Agreed, sorry wasn't trying to imply anything other than he's left Maine. Obviously he could also go back.

How do you think that goes down? How do they get someone to come in for a year of eligibility and only play half the year? It seems like a bad decision by the player to go that route..

You are probably talking borderline d1 talent that he thinks fits his mold... An older kid to two... Not much in the way of promises given... Because you are right... If their prospects were stronger you wait it out

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

So let me get this straight. Lowell doesn't lose this weekend and stay at 17. I'm calling shenanigans. No respect. :p

Exactly what Pat said ... it's going to be (and nothing against the kid) an Alec Butler type of player, most likely.

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

Just wanted to wish my fellow Lowell alums/fans Happy Holidays. Best wishes everyone.

Monty: Great stuff about the attendance so far this season. A good showing down in Connecticut will only help keep the attendance up in the new year.

I'd like to pass along the same thoughts!

I'd love to see them continue to find ways to get people in. It's obvious (so far) that the students have picked up on what this team is doing, so that's a great start.

Happy Holidays to all.

Patman, What's it like watching a game at the UConn rink? Is the rink comfortable or is it cold/freezing? I just want to make sure I'm dressed right if I'm spending 4 plus hours in the place each day.

Cold enough but not unbearable... If it's warm out prepare like you are ice fishing... Not usually an issue

Wonderful.

I did appreciate the tickets for these games being just $2 each. Fantastic.
