Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

How about this... granted things can change in 2-3 weeks... the current league standings (accounting for games in hand)... some order of... BC, Merrimack, BU, UML/Providence... *GAP*.... etc. Not quite world turned upside-down but not exactly on its axis.

How about this.............Doug Carr is pretty freakin' good and Hockey East is wide open.

Carr with 45 saves tonight. He improves to 8-1. His goals against is 1.78 (2.14 in league play). His save rate is 93.5% (in all games), 92.5% in league. Just wow.

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

The three new coaches in Hockey East went 6-0 on the weekend. UML obviously sweeping UNH in a home and away. Providence sweeping Merrimack, also in a home and away. And Northeastern going out to Notre Dame and sweeping as well, 9-2 last night () and 2-1 tonight.

Also around Hockey East tonight, all the road teams won in league play and in non-conference play. Don't see that too often.

Let the good times roll! It has been a tough few years and I am enjoying this ride. Norm has sure turned this team around.

The drive back from Durham was a much better ride than two weeks ago! I am so pumped and jacked for the game Friday.

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

I don't think there is one Lowell fan on the planet that is in belief of the year we have had. I expect to be 4-9 not 9-4. Wow!

Hopefully, if Mr. Carr get HE defensive player of the week, the non-Massachusetts lackey will learn to spell or learn some geography. I've never heard of the town of Hanoaver. See HE Web Site

Re: UML 2011/2012 Season Thread

I'm expecting (for what its worth) for Lowell to be ranked tomorrow in the USCHO poll. I think we can get as high as 18 tomorrow.

Just thought of an interesting trivia question I wanted to throw out there (because I'm curious as to the answer). The question (brought to you by the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce) is...

When (if ever) were Lowell and Merrimack ranked D-I teams at the same time?

Was there a good Lowell crowd at the game on Saturday night? I wound up listening to the UNH feed because the Lowell one doesn't seem to want to work for me, but everytime Lowell scored, I could hear a loud cheer.

I wouldn't call it a large crowd. There were a lot of empty seats Saturday night and it got pretty quiet when the Hawks scored. The attendance was 4,327, so the Whitt seemed empty to me. I'm use to going up there where the place is usually sold out. It's to bad with a few more Lowell fans we could have turned it into Tsongas North. :D

I wonder if Bob Ellis /WUML are aware of this problem?

Ridiculous.

BU is sitting at #11 at 8-5-1. Lowell is at #18 at 9-4, and they cleaned BU's clock.

The Season of Disrespect continues...
Are you always this negative or maybe just haven't been around HE that long? Besides BU gets automatic points for ....being BU. I am just happy we are ranked at all. With our dismal showing last yr this is amazing. I thought it would take longer to get the stink off from the last yr.

I agree, the ranking is nice and the team's progress so far this season has been fantastic. There's still a long way to go, so at this point I'm not getting to excited about the polls. Two big games this weekend, taking a point or two would be huge heading into the break. Let's just take it one game at a time.
