UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

My bad, I thought they got 31 pts tonight...

However, they play an Amherst team that is heading the wrong way on a one way track at the Heights on Saturday, so it may be a temporary reprieve until then.

That's a 7 result swing... its not worth worrying about until next Saturday if it even materializes.

The league is so crazy this year that anything can happen once the playoffs start. Any team that makes the HE playoffs this season has a shot to win it

This is basically what the ECAC was like for a string of years... everybody was so mediocre or inseperable that they'd just beat each other and then the playoffs was just more of the same.

Let's say it together...........4 points this weekend, 4 points this weekend.

The Hockey East picture will be pretty clear around 6PM on Sunday.

Even Providence can't be depended on to lose all the time...I predict a split weekend. With my luck they will each lose at home...

Don't worry, I think I see a light at the end of the tunnel. No wait, that's another train.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

Alex Beaudry's record since getting to PC is 13-29-6 .. and he's 2-0 against Lowell. :o

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

last time these teams played they were both above .500 (PC 6-4-1, Lowell 8-2-1). they're a combined 12-26-2 since. just awful.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

WINNER!!!!

Alright, great game, lets do this again tomorrow. In the mean time, time to drink and watch the Slovaks.

edit: 51 shots... I'd say that's probably the most since we shot 52 against Army in 2001 or 2002... IIRC, that was also a 4-0 win.

Does anyone (maybe people listening on the radio since they either didn't announce it at Tsongas or I just didn't hear) know what the bench minor call on Lowell was for?

No clue. Didn't matter anyway as Lowell dominated tonight. I swear it looked like Lowell was on the PP most of the night.

Lets hope Lowell keeps it up tomorrow night.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

MacDonald was berating the linesman for a solid minute so I would guess it was unsportsmanlike minor. Same linesman blew an obvious icing in the first when the Friar leaving the box missed the outlet pass which also upset the coach.

He wasn't very loud because they couldn't hear it at the end of the bench.

By far the most dominant performance of the season. Let's not forget that we have to come back with the same effort tomorrow night to continue our long but still doable quest for home ice.

Speaking of which, Lowell got almost a perfect night of results on the scoreboard, save NU getting a point. A three way tie for fourth place where we can hold on our own with a win tomorrow night.

Don't dismiss the penalty on Blaise for giving the ref some early "Easter Greetings". This is not the first time that he's gone overboard on a ref and gotten tagged for it. It was still only 1-0 and not a smart move. Providence is one thing but you can't be pulling the same stuff against the Maine, BC, UNH, and BU's of the world with a free power play.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

No idea. My source has no idea and he was 10 ft away.
I think it had to do with a quick whistle that the Ref made a few minutes before. The puck ended up in the net after the whistle blew. Blaise seemed to be pretty upset with the quick whistle.

Re: UML '09/'10 Season Thread Part II

It was good to see Edwards getting some good rips on net. PC's pk was not at all aggressive on the point, BC was all over them a couple weeks ago caused them all sorts of problems.
