UMD offseason - 2010

Re: UMD offseason - 2010

The same colors that Darwitz has, actually.

Didn't some members of this forum create a thread for your very own?

Re: UMD offseason - 2010

From my User CP page:
Do you have a point? Just another stupid remark typical of UMD fans, then run & hide. brookyone

I didn't run and hide anywhere. Wowza.

My point is that I thought Ms. Darwitz's comments did not represent the heart of the US team and her fellow competitors. Competitors that she has played with and against over a clearly successful career in women's hockey. I thought that statement to be poor in taste and professionalism. What color medal did Rooth have from the 2010 Games? Yep, you're right. No color. 4th Place. And I bet you she would have be very, very, very happy to have earned silver, even if it meant loosing the gold. That was my point. Sportsmanship has no color because it will blind the eyes of those that are filled with contempt and malice.

Thank you for that really nice comment on my User CP. I wish that someone could bring a little joy and happiness into your world because my brief time on this forum gives me the impression that you could use some.

Good for you Skatefast for calling this loser out. That's his M.O. leaving disparaging, derogatory remarks on User CP's...At least he had the stones to sign yours.

This grumpy old trout needs to be put in his place and I applaud you for doing so...If he keeps this up even his arse kissing friends are going to walk on him.... if they haven't already.

Welcome to the "Brookyone - Up Yours Club!"

Oh...I'm not allowed to post in the UMD thread...is that it?

Still not understanding the dis to Natalie Darwitz based on the color of her Olympic medal when it's the same as one possessed by Rooth, which I didn't know. I can understand why a UMD fan would prefer Rooth for an assistant coach position...

...ya know, I can understand the disrespect aimed at Darwitz too, given the fan base source I guess.

So,

How crazy to coach where your number hangs from the ceiling?
Not very as I see it. Which would apply to any player with an illustrious past with their former college hockey program, including Miss Darwitz who thankfully, always wanted to stand behind the Gopher bench. Was the question rhetorical?

You're unable to comprehend why a member of a Team USA might be disappointed with silver where a member of another non North American team might not? That shouldn't be real difficult to understand for a women's hockey fan in my opinion. I'm not sure you can speak for how the bulk of team USA felt about her sentiment. I think they probably felt much the same, I would bet. I would also doubt any fellow competitors on other teams would feel disrespected as a result of comments made by Natalie as you propose, or imply. I think they might actually understand it...easily. I also would question your position as a spokesperson regarding any potential reaction of those fellow competitors towards the thought expressed by Darwitz.

Keep implying my objection to your posts are based simply on a personal issue of mine...we all know my comments could never possibly be based on a sincere objection to your own comments...because your own comments are always completely incontrovertible, classy, high road, and in this particular case, well informed as to the sentiments of women's Olympic ice hockey competitors.

From the loudmouth tool who doesn't sign his own disparaging reps. Get some stones of your own eunuch.

No, but I think it's interesting that members of this forum went out of their way to provide you an area where you could take your ball and go home, so to speak.

When I say, "How crazy is it..." I'm not looking for a literal answer, BrookyOne. I'm simply excited for the opportunity for Rooth, who was a superb athlete and student, to come full circle to the program. I'm allowed to be excited for our program, our players and our coaching staff on a freakin' UMD thread. I think if people spent more time cheering on the successes of our respective programs, we'd all be a little happier and the sport would be a little better off.

Now, how about a drink? Man.... could SOMEONE tell me how I got sucked into that tar pit? #(*&#$(#*&#(&#@!)!_)!

Re: UMD offseason - 2010

SO ANYWAY,

HOW ABOUT THE UMD WOMEN'S HOCKEY PROGRAM? (you know, the thing that this thread is titled after).

Re: UMD offseason - 2010

I'm with you Brooky.

Both great players but would definitely take Darwitz over Rooth ANY day of the week...

Great for UMD to get a person like Rooth. U o M is also Great to have Darwitz.

5 4 Not a fan.

Then don't slam a U of M olympian. I'm not a gopher fan first but I do love the way Darwitz plays and will jump in to defend if it warrants.

I don't believe I was attempting to deny you your exuberance for Ms. Rooth joining the UMD coaching staff. Don't feel I indicated such an attempt in any way.

Don't understand the need to impugn Natalie Darwitz within that exuberance...on some very questionable, quite possibly false evidence.

My point is it is something I'd like to see happen for every program. Makes perfect sense to me.

Actually, it can't be his M.O. because I frequently get positive remarks from Brooky on my User CP--and never had a negative one from him yet. I guess that must be something specific he saves for special friends like you. Then again, I don't make it a habit of baiting him either.

And also, anyone who actually knows me can certainly attest to the fact that being an arse kisser is hardly something I could ever be accused of. :p

Re: UMD offseason - 2010

OK, so getting the UMD thread back on track, would anyone care to summarize Ms Rooth's past accomplishments, both with UMD and her national team?

I'm sure the players will be very excited to have yet another coach on the bench with international experience, and in particular, one who has also so recently been in their shoes as a UMD student-athlete.

What a wonderful tribute...

Re: UMD offseason - 2010

Thank you Trillium, for some sanity.

(I wasn't trying to bait anybody... really... just cheering on my team. And now I'm stepping away from the tar pit. Slowly, quietly, gently....backing away from angst and contempt....)
