Re: UMD offseason - 2010
BTW, the team entered the Dragon Boat Festival. Here is the link to the article on the Bulldog web site:

And a note about it by Kevin Pates in the 8/29 DNT:
"UMD women race
The 2010 NCAA champion Minnesota Duluth women’s hockey team logged extra exercise time last week. The Bulldogs began on-ice captain’s practice Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, followed by weight room work. And there was Dragon Boat practice Monday through Friday for 45 minutes to an hour.
“As soon as we got in the boat, it was pretty serious,” said goalie Kim Martin, returning to the team as a senior after competing for Sweden in the 2010 Winter Olympics. “When you’re done, you’re tired and your arms are burning.”
New assistant coach and former UMD forward Maria Rooth was competing with the UMD team, which had the sixth-best time in the preliminaries in 2:11.55. UMD opens official practice Sept. 20."
Glad to hear the whole team may make the trip.Sounds as if the whole team gets to visit the White House! There was some discussion about the number of staff that could accompany. So far it's Coach Miller, former Chancellor Martin, and one more staff... I was guess Coach Schuler.
