Nadeau show has arrived in Waterville. Look really sharp with Breen, they seem to be able to handle the puck no matter where it is, in the skates, on the tape, it doesn’t matter.

Josh Nadeau gets his 2nd goal on a 2-on-0 with 1:50 left in the third. No chance for UNH's goalie. Maine up 3-2 now.

Nadeaus live up to their reputation. Maine took foot off gas in 3rd. Need scoring from other lines. Good practice, the real thing starts Thursday.

2G/1A for Josh Nadeau, 1G/2A for Lynden Breen & 2A for Bradly Nadeau is great, but definitely need secondary scoring to show up.

Was impressed with the Freel/Scott/Niemo line even though they didn't get on the scoresheet.

Definitely more speed than years prior, more tic tack toe stuff. Liked the D corps, they seem poised and able to skate with the puck and breakout pretty easily. These guys will battle game in and game out, that much I am convinced. Still too early to get a great read on these guys but I like what I see again this year.

Agreed. Scoring depth and goaltending are the 2 areas to watch. Nadeau x2 + Breen will terrorize the league and like you said....the D looks super solid.

Can't wait to see and hear what Alfond is going to be like with all the excitement growing over the team. Last night should amp that up a little more. Bradly got a pass on the left dot last night and absolutely ripped it, missed by a hair but wow I haven't seen that in awhile. Can't wait to see one of those go in.

I was happy enough with Maine’s performance. I did think that Maine was much better 5x5 than on special teams. My guess is that Ben will mix up the top two lines, I just don’t think there is enough scoring if you play Breen and the Nadeaus together.

What was up with the new goalie not playing? For me that’s a big red flag. At this point I’m assuming Maine has two third string guys backing up Ostman.

If Maine is fully healthy they’ll be tough but losing one of Breen or Ostman and Maine is completely screwed.

You always seem to find the silver lining in everything.

Like Walrus said, we are going to see one timers from Bradly that will amaze the Alfond. Any team that leaves him alone in that face off circle during a Maine PP will pay…

Is there a team who can lose their starting goalie and not be screwed?

I have to admit, I was asking myself that question while watching the game on video replay. It's an exhibition game, a chance to get your guys some competitive exposure before the real games ... and even UNH switched out their returning starter for his projected back-up after two periods.

I'm sure Barr had his reasons, and there are a ton of reasons for UMaine to be optimistic about this season ... and I know you guys like to give Drew grief, but you gotta admit, this was at least curious, no??

I think Barr could move Renwick up between the Nadeau’s if needed and stretch the scoring out when needed.

Breen & Houle have always had good chemistry together so finding a winger that clicks with them could help with opposing teams just keying in on one line.

Otsman played the whole time because although an expedition they thought it was important to win that game.

Felix Trudeau Note: Sick start on the 4th line only to be rotated out for Sholle! He did manage to get a penalty during his limited play so at least he showed up in the box score!

Wasn't he on a PP or two?
