On ice player and student section operate by the same standards? Laughable.
We do love noting which opponents have rabbit ears….

if you kick a team’s arse, yeah, dish it out all night

if you win a million round shootout and go 0-1-1 on the weekend, ehhh not the same thing

That's irrelevant when it comes to being upset about players chirping back at fans after a game. It's meaningless. While it's only a shootout all teams I have seen react the same way. They view it as a win. They aren't computing in their heads at that very moment that they went 0-1-1 on the weekend.

It’s pretty shocking BC has gone from winning three national championships in five years to celebrating ties in November. For their sake hopefully happier times are ahead.

Again, teams celebrate shootout "wins" the same way across the league. It ain't a BC thing. But I guess they should all act like robots and only celebrate if they are the last team celebrating in April.

Lighten up. Would you like them to give a stick tap to your precious students? If you wanna dish it out you can take it in return.

Nah it was classless. You go into an opponent rink you know the student section wont be friendly. You win or lose you leave the ice with your head up like a good sportsman whose been there before and has integrity, stay out of the mud.

Glad to see that Maine can skate with BC and beat them…2 very evenly matched teams. BU will be a different beast next weekend…would be more than happy to see a split down on Commonwealth Ave.

Nothing at all wrong with celebrating a win, no matter how you get it. But mocking a group of fans is not celebrating. It just isn't. It's low class, even if "everybody is doing it". I expect more of BC.

Maine picked up a commitment today, F Zach Wooten out of Minnesota. I wish I had any form of understanding on projectability, so I’ll leave it to the experts! Lol.

I also saw a commitment announcement regarding Brian Morse, defenseman for the Chilliwack Chiefs in the BCHL. The only place I've seen it is on the "Northstar Knights" X-feed (a former team) back on 11/6, i.e. not yet showing on the Heisenberg site:

however, it was represented on the Chilliwack lineup starting on 11/3:

The last dozen-plus posts on the "shootout win" pretty much solidify my belief that shootouts really have no redeeming value, and need to go the way of the saber-tooth tiger and wooly mammoth. Full out extinction.

If you happen to get your jollies over penalty shots, then direct Commish Nigel's on-ice referees to award more of them.

Raise your hand if you've ever uttered this(or close): "Wasn't that a great/memorable shootout?"

Thought not ...

Agreed Chuck. A supposedly fan friendly way to make one team feel like they lost and the other feel like they won.....when in fact neither did. Shootouts are unquestionably stupid, reinforced by the fact that Maine never wins them :-)

I hate the 3x3 concept also then going to shootouts...no need of them except for Holiday and Opening season tourneys...go to in the regular season a 10 minute sudden death overtime, maybe 4x4...but not the gimmick 3x3...you play hard for 60 minutes & why spoil it with gimmick 3x3/shootouts...and a tie is a tie in regular season ...deal with it.

I’m more extreme on the OT policies. I
would rather see another period of 5 on 5 play, NO sudden death, 10 minute length,
final score is just that, the final score. Team
scores in OT? Keep playing until time runs out. Still tied? Each team gets a point.
Extreme comparison here I know, but imagine basketball games where it’s “first basket wins” in OT…..

Big difference in basketball to hockey...you are going to score in B-ball...while hockey is way harder at that.
