Tim would have had a national title with his own players if a particular goal tender had not let him down.

I’m guessing this is pointed at Darling. I’ve always thought the 10-11 team would have won it all if Darling hadn’t been kicked off the team the year prior. So much talent on that team. Sullivan, Oulettte and Sirman all had sub .900 save percentages.

I guess I was saying this: did he fail compared to Red?

Nope.

But we completely forgot about NCAA bids when Red was at the wheel. Pretty sure that Tim would've had better results.
Did he fail compared to Red? Yes. They both failed. Red more spectacularly.

WBRC has released some new renderings of the Alfond Arena renovations set to begin this spring.

It looks fantastic. In particular, the lockeroom, video room, and weight room. I’m sure those two things will go a long way for recruiting.

Do the women’s team(and women’s opponent) get their own lockeroom? I think that is needed.

A basic floor plan of each area would be nice.

I think the only thing after this would be to upgrade the seats in the rink. Get rid of the bleachers in the main section. Not sure about the balcony if it is capable of it?

I'm really glad to see they partnered up with Forty Nine Degrees for the interior design work.

Really familiar with their stuff and their attention to detail is incredible. They did some great work on DU's facility: LINK

The NCAA has repeatedly treated Providence as the host team in Providence even when the Friars aren't the host. Just ask Jimmy.

If Maine ends up in the same pairing as UMass and PC then expect the Bears to head for Missouri unless something highly unusual happens.

Don’t forget, they have QU to put in Providence for attendance too. I think Maine gets shipped West.

Darling let the whole team down...and the worst is he let himself down. He had problems and that's the end of that.

"Trust the Proscess" ??? Is my spelling that bad or should these guys get fired ? I always thought it was "Process"

I felt awful for him, and for Maine. That guy had the goods to have been compared to Jimmy, Alfie, Frank, et al, if he could've stayed more or less clean.

Then, he got sober and made a brief splash in the pros. Rumor said he relapsed there as well.

A crying shame. Damn, he was good, but he was a shooting star.

We got one shot at doing this right, hope there is someone on the contractor team who knows and has experience with how to do the architecture design for hockey, for the player side. So they get room sizes, layouts, and flow so its not a cobbed up affair. I dont know if wrbc has much expertise in this, they do alot of schools and that sort of thing, dont know if that transfers to D1 sports.

The entrance improvements to the rink will be nice, especially new bathrooms, lol.

They should ditch the bench seating get rid of the gold seats and have the same seating throughout the upper sections. This would reduce the capacity I suppose, wonder by how much, also would increase ticket prices. Do it!

That team probably had the worst goaltending crew (as a unit) of any Maine team, ever.

It was almost as though a very good Maine team was spotting the opposition 2 goals before the opening face-off every night.

(Come to think of it, that was the year I bailed on Tim... Probably not a coincidence.)

I believe it would reduce capacity in the upper bowl by 256 seats. At $20/seat/game that's about $92,000 in an 18 game season.

So a 5% loss in capacity… increase tickets by 5% for all seats… so now each ticket is an extra $1 or $2. Instead of $20 it is $21 and instead of $40 it is $42.

Doesn’t seem like a hurdle that can’t be overcome.

And they'll up the Donation Seats annual cost...they dropped it by $200 many years ago to entice people to stay.

The fun starts tonight. If Providence wins pressure mounts on Maine. They could lose a home ice game as a 5 seed if they back in. Providence loses tonight Maine clinches a home game with a win either Friday or Saturday. Maine can not go lower than 5th
