There is a food buffet before each game, for example this Friday it is Prime Rib and Stuffed haddock with sides and dessert. It's not bad most of the time. Unlimited alcohol (beer, hard seltzer, mixed drinks, hard stuff), and popcorn. VIP Parking pass for parking right up by the arena, special entrance over by the Alfond lounge. You can arrive at 6pm which is what people normally do. That's about it, and of course the views are great and the seats are padded and nice. The lady and I would go out to eat before each game around 50 to 60 bucks with a drink or so.. we figured why not just splurge and do it at the arena and of course donate some money lol

And before anyone says it, yes, it's ridiculous they allow people paying for club to get alcohol but not the rest of the arena. Just do it already. Most of club level I see getting multiple drinks per game and there is never any "rowdiness"
That doesn’t sound bad, approx 20 home games, those tickets are worth 50 ea, maybe more. Not sure who caters it but I could get my moneys worth of prime rib ; )
As far as drinks in arena, I’m glad they don’t. I like a bourbon or two but there will always be drunk dopes who get in fights, puke or whatever. Just look at red Sox or pats.

I agree with you but I think the extra income would be substantial. Jeff's catering has done it last few years..Prime rib is definitley a fan favorite.

Rough math- if you sell 3000 beers a game, I'd say the cost of an actual beer is close to $1 tops if you are buying kegs.

$7 a beer, 3000 beers = $21,000
Net cost of beers- $3000
Extra staff for the weekend- $2000
Equipment maintenance etc, $1000
Misc repairs, etc- $1000

Our net is now $14k per game x 20 games- $280k per year

I think they would sell more than 3000 beers a game personally.

Just a shot in the dark here they need to sell alcohol

Head butting penalty on BU looked like a pretty weak call if you ask me. Refs seem to be handing out 5 minute majors at the drop of a hat this year.

He didn’t spend very long reviewing it.

Providence 2-1

we should know better than to expect help from BU

What are you talking about? BU is up 3-2

Four, Nan. Four.

Maine in great position now. Win tomorrow and they are in 3rd! And can likely host UNH at Alfond for the quarterfinals!

That makes this weekend easy. All Maine needs is two points this weekend to finish third. A single point and Maine finishes fourth. It would take a Providence win and a UMass sweep in regulation for Maine to lose home ice.

BU helped Maine out tonight, but Maine still has to do it on the ice....hopefully...but talk is cheap and whiskey cost money...Maine needs to show up and play.

I would have thought the same thing, but I haven't seen that at my local D-3 arena (off-campus), which has always had beer and wine available for 23 years.

No fights, no puking, nothing untoward at all, to speak of.

Maybe it's because you only have time to pound one between periods, I don't know, but, unlike an NFL game, nobody seems to get hammered in the parking lots before the game starts.

If we didn't have to drive 7-10 hours to get there, sign us up!

That's a bargain, nowadays.

I realize it will change but after tonights results: Maine would be sent to St.Louis in a swap with Michigan. This to avoid a first round Michigan v Michigan State game.

Might be a b̶u̶g̶ undocumented feature but balcony tickets were on sale (since the students are on break) for $20 however my browser now shows none available for either night.

Reminder that tonight's game starts at 8 because of the women's hoops game at 5.

More ticket info:

Women's season tickets go on sale March 19. Men's season tickets start April 23.
The get-in price for tonight on Stub Hub has dropped to only $19. Tomorrow night is $56. Good luck to the people trying to sell tickets in Section K ($253), Section C ($364) and Section D ($445)

Looking ahead to the national tournament:
Boston College is likely to be the #1 seed in Providence and Boston University the #1 seed in Springfield. With both Providence (treated as a host) and UMass (actual host) also in the 2/3 band with Maine, the Bears would be headed to Missouri. What can change that is if Maine sweeps this weekend and knocks UMass down to a 4 seed. The NCAA would be loathe to have an intraconference first round game and would have to move BU out (probably to Missouri). That opens up an opportunity for Maine on several fronts: It boosts their pairwise, it makes them a far more attractive option for Springfield with UMass potentially the only Eastern team in the regional and it gets BU out of the way. More than likely the opponent would be from the BTHC. I have good memories of playing Minnesota in western Massachusetts, so bring on the Gophs! (But it is more probable that it will be Michigan or State)

Six hours to go...

They seem to be sold out tonight you can't even buy 1 ticket in the balcony. I wonder if a bunch of students are coming before they leave town. Tomorrow you can still get up to 2 tickets it looks like in the balcony. Surprised they scheduled their Senior night when the students are about to be on break.

Home playoff game will be next Saturday if they can secure 3/4th

Come on boys play like your hairs on fire tonight!!!!!
Going to be an electric crowd in the ole girl tonite keep it loud.
Lets play hockey!!
