As for Logan at one point he said he went to school "up here" which I assumed was at Maine, maybe he was referring to High School?

I spent two great years at Maine(1986-88)at the start of a great run by the program.

Do you remember a few years ago, when Maine had defense and goaltending, but didn't have any finishers on offense? I remember lots of games where Maine outworked and outplayed their opponent, but it seemed like they ran into Ryan Miller every night. That wasn't bad luck. It wasn't a case of every goalie Maine faced playing the game of his season. Maine made a lot of goalies look good back then. UNH made Sullivan and the Maine D look good.
.
Sully made some great saves but UNH missed the net all night, just like Maine did/does. In the 3rd on the PP, they had several great chances where they had Sully moving and just plain missed chip shots. UNH carried the play for more than 1/2 the game, Maine could do nothing to stop it

Wish my memory of the mid-80s was better. I definitely remember the Capuanos . . .

Am I the only one who didn't think the game looked so bad? Their effort wasn't the best I've seen all year but it was certainly better than over half the games I've seen this season...

I'm sure it was kinda like watching paint dry, if you didn't have a rooting interest... One goal scored, and very few Grade As for either team.

[Re: the TV thing, I'm headed to Maine to visit my brother this weekend in Falmouth... (His massive cable package and the fact that Maine might be on locally there has nothing to do with me making the trip, OK?) ;) If neither WABI nor NESN is going to show Maine/MC, I will drive to Orono if there are seats for sale. Any info on TV listings and/or ticket availability will be greatly appreciated.]

Meh, you like to see perfection but seldom get it with Timmay coached teams. The end result was satisfactory, that is all I can say. Thought Sully looks confident which is very good this time of the year and was suitably impressed with Pryor...indications of why he wuz so hightly touted. I dont recall seeing any blatant Maine D turnovers...did anyone else?

The one that I remember was Cornell over-shooting his man on a pass from behind his own net into the low slot. That was a bad pass, and an even worse decision...UNH should've scored on that TO, but the puck didn't settle down for the shot. (Looked like the ice was choppy all night on both ends, which probably saved/cost both teams some goals.)

I hate to pick on Heggs yet again, but he just doesn't seem to have the instincts to anticipate trouble ahead of him. He didn't make me groan as often as he usually does, but he was still an adventure on the breakout. (Yup, I realize he gets a ton of ice-time, and maybe that is both an excuse and a problem.)

This upcoming series will come down to Cannata vs Sullivan...Cannata can steal games...while Maine needs Sullivan to keep them in the game....Merrimack is stingy on D...but there downfall is Offense. Home ice is key for Maine/imo.

It looks like the fan voting is over with the Hobey and Spencer topped the field with 24,585 votes, followed by Jack Connelly, UMD, 24,392 and Austin Smith, Colgate, 11,851. Flynn over 3,000.

It looks like WABI will be showing Fridays game but neither WABI nor NESN appear to be showing Saturdays game.

Dammit! They'll put a camera in my spot, like NESN did.

Merrimack's downfall is committing too, many penalties, in my opinion.

that will not matter if the refs don't call them in the playoffs, OR if the refs are going to make sure that there are as many called on each team.

Hi I'm a Merrimack and am going to Saturday's game. However I am not going to Friday nights game but my folks have a place in Biddeford I might stay at Friday night. What channel would the game be on?

Depends on provider. It will be on Channel 35, WPME but some providers have it on a different channel.

Cannot find anything definite on broadcasting yet. I bought my tickets for Friday thinking that NESN had Saturday's game, at least that's what they said during the UNH broadcast.

Remember when Season ticket holders had first dibs on their seats for the playoffs? Wish they had told us it was first come first serve. Oh well, this is what happens when u are not used to hosting quarterfinal playoffs.

GO BLUE!!! Payback for last year.:D

Season ticket holders had the option of purchasing tickets for the HE quarterfinals with their original ticket order. Two years ago, I said no. When I purchased tickets for the quarterfinals, the ticket office tried to put me as close to my regular seats as possible (one row back, a couple seats to the right). This year, I guess they won't even do that.

NESN is def not carrying sat's Maine-Mack game and Ch 5 is def picking up the fri. but not the sat game. The only thing I'm not sure of is if there is a chance they(ch5) pick up the sun game. I think they did that 2 yrs ago against Lowell.
