Anybody know why the Mangene penalty went up? NU scored and as far as I could see he slashed on the rush not afterwards in disgust. Not that it would've mattered at 75 secs. But they almost scored 5x5 empty net so 6x5 who knows....
well... another uninspired performance... enjoy lawler in the quarters.... probably be the last two games of the season....
Maddening....to say the LEAST.
And hopefully of TIMMAY's career at Maine. The last 3 weekends have been unacceptable losing to Providence, UMass, and Northeastern and now on the verge of PWR elimination from the NCAAs. It really WAS all a mirage vs. BC and BU........Fire Timmy, hire Jimmy!
if they lose tomorrow it will not be lawler, and as it is, there is a good chance that maine will not finish in 5th.
sweeper, a friend asked me to ask you.
besides the drop pass that actually connected with 7:50 left in the game... which pass was the good one?
honestly... he had a nice set up that could have gone either way, getting the puck to Diamond, but it deflected off the D and it was really close to being intercepted.... other than the drop pass that connected, did he make a second good pass in this game?
... no... they were all intercepted.
pay attention.
I wish someone would photoshop Whathead's face over Timmy's, and then turn it into a t-shirt. Mark me down for two. One XL and one Lrg.
In college hockey they still give the penalty even if the other team scores on the delay.
Wait, I thought the answer was to hire Jeff Jackson...or Dean Blais...or Kevin Sneddon...or to have a national search, not a preordained replacement...
When did that change?

General thoughts: Tried to get way too cute way too many times. Too many passes, not enough shots. Too many slap passes lost in the skates. The goal is kind of on Beattie, he should have shot instead of kicking it back to Pryor, at least from my POV. Kind of on Pryor for coughing it up and kind of on Sullivan for not corralling the first rebound.
Sullivan was..OK. Made some good stops but the second goal, on the 2x1....the guy only had one option and that was glove side and I don't know if he didn't get it fast enough or what but that's a tough one to give up, at least I thought so.
Not much doing in the first, they had their energy in the second and got derailed by the major on Cornell. I didn't have a clean look, seemed like a collision as the puck turned over quick rather than a head-hunting but I'll defer to a replay or someone who saw it.
First line really had some good shifts but again not enough shots for my liking....second line tough night, and Pryor really tough night. It's a game they had to find a way to win and they didn't. Not good at all. They may blow this thing yet.
The Abbott-Diamond shorthanded goal was beautiful.
Agree with almost everything bosox said. Actually Beattie had made a couple of good plays on that shift, but then telegraphed that pass and NU player read it perfect. Not on Pryor as he was going one way and NU player was going the other. Sullivan give up on 2nd goal was brutal, but he made up with it with key saves in 3rd. On game winner he made the original save on the breakaway, Mangene slashed the 2nd guy and it was the 3rd guy that got it. That is not on Sullivan.
Biggest disappointment was they came out with no energy in 3rd. Some of that could have been as a result of losing Cornell and killing the 5. BUT, NU wanted it more than us tonight plain and simple and that is inexcusable. Since I am no longer an apologist I could ride the coach. BUT YOU DO NOT COACH DESIRE!!!!!!! That has to come from within. Not sure when some of you who keep breaking your ankles jumping on and off the bandwagon will get this? Sometimes it is on the guys and not the coaches. We beat BC (2), BU (2) and Lowell (1). Losing to PC, UMASS and NU comes down to desire. Can't get up and play 60 against the top teams and let down vs. the bottom tier. Definitely looks like we will be on the road again and will need to get to the Garden to get to the Tournament. Hope I see the team I saw vs. BC (at the Alfond), BU (at Agganis) and Lowell (at Tsongas) tomorrow night.
