Hockey puck is still at games, I think Spy and Blackie got sick of Timmay time

as did revo...
just got an email from revo laughing at all the chit on here... he said "the more things change, the more they stay the same"

and MAN... I am worn out after the flame fest over in the BU thread... I have not had that much fun online since pretending in a chat room that I was a 26 year old, tall, brunette stewardess who was flying into YOUR town in just a couple of days.

Re: UMaine - 2011-2012 Season Thread (cont) - Beating Back the Internuts ?

ok, now address the "crap" that put Maine into the tourney the year that they lost to lose to UMass go get in.

staying at 8 in the PWR does not address their better record against TUCs due soleley to the loss... no matter what you wish to be the case

also, the loss to PC HELPS PC be a TUC... if they can somehow claw their way back to being a TUC, it will cause Maine's record against TUCs to be 11-10, again that might flip some comparisons.... if PC and UMass are out, then Maine's record will be 7-8

I'm being as polite as I can be here, but TUC is truly a BS metric, and it was a BS metric even before the NCAA installed a steeper cliff to fall off last year (which only served to make TUC an even more illegitimate way to compare teams.)

RPI, which is already in place in the PWR, pretty-much covers the territory of who beat who, who they beat, and who the latter beat...It certainly isn't perfect, but RPI operates within a continuum that includes everybody, and the NCAA makes allowances to negate anything bad happening to your RPI, should you beat a weak team like UAH late in the season, for example.

To say that (for instance) the 24th team in the RPI matters, but the 25th does not is a truly arbitrary and stupid way to separate teams... And that's exactly what TUC does. (Does anyone think that UMass or PC is really "under consideration" for anything, FCS? No way in the world either team has a snowball's chance at the NCAAs, barring a very unlikely AQ... To say in any way that either squad is "under consideration" for anything is patently ridiculous.)

TUC should be flushed down the toilet, and the NCAA ought to go with RPI, H2H and CP, only... (Or adopt KRACH, which I am in favor of them doing.)

I like the PWR, in that it's objective, but that TUC component is a blazing red herring, at best.

Did anyone else get to see the special on Edmonton and their farm system?? I caught the tail end of it around 830 last night, I think it was on ESPN?? It had some good interviews with Tanner House on it, he basically said hes adjusted to the difference of playing with Men etc. Anyone else catch it?? if so was there more on Tanner?? Hopefully I can catch a replay.

I watched it after I had recorded it off the NHL channel. The series is called “Oil Change,” and zeros in on the Edmonton Oilers and how they are rebuilding their franchise by gathering lots of young talent after a few very bad years. It will be on twice before the end of the month on NHL and this episode is entitled “The Grind.” It will be aired on Feb. 26 @ 5:30 p.m. and again on Feb. 29 @ 9 p.m. No more on Tanner than a short bite in the last half hour.

Not shocked, he said some pretty rude things.

Disgusting would be more accurate. I wonder if he was responsible for the tag cloud comments on the BU thread? They have since been deleted.

I would, look who he has to deal with on a daily basis. :D

Most tolerant perhaps, but the best is still a bit of a stretch.

Not shocked, he said some pretty rude things.

Was this on the bU thread? I haven't had a chance to visit that one yet. And now looks like I've missed all the fun, as I assume the offending posts have been removed.

not ruder than most everyone else on that thread, and never rose to the level of calling Keith Johnson a felon (something that will get USCHO in trouble for publishing slander).
by moderating and removing posts, USCHO is not a mere conduit of information and disinformation, they actiely take it upon them selves to publish slander.
They would be better off NOT deleting posts on their own.

but the first rule of Maine Hockey, is don't talk about Maine hockey

How long is K.I.A. going to be M.I.A.? Do the moderators have a graduated scale or is this a lifetime banishment...at least till he changes poster name.

What does it matter how long they ban K.I.A, TylerDurden = K.I.A so he is already back.
