Sullivan said that he initially stopped the puck on the Minutemen's first goal. He then lost it in his skates and scored it himself.:(
He did, happened right in front of me, Ben Bishop move if I ever saw one

Happy Hockey Day in America! If Hallmark hasn't made a greeting card for this new special day they better get on with it!

From a Boston.com article titled: Inconsistent Bruins looking for a Spark....

. . . The USHL’s Dubuque Fighting Saints will attend today’s game.
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli is a part-owner of the Dubuque club. Former University of Maine star Jim Montgomery is the coach.
Montgomery might not be long for the USHL, as his name has been mentioned as a pro or college coach . . .

Parker brought that intensity last night, so did Joey. Others floated and drove me nuts
I agree with you on those two players...they came to play...and especially on the 3rd goal/4 on 2 break,UMaine players slacked on catching up and it bite them........Cerrtani needs to be in the Lineup full time.

I've said it all this year...he'll be in Div.1 soon,if not this coming Fall then by next Year...he's learning the ropes and he'll be a good one for anyone that takes the Chance on him...he's driven and knows the game...He was a Coach in waiting while playing for Maine on the ice...I wish him well.

Re: UMaine - 2011-2012 Season Thread (cont) - Beating Back the Internuts ?

Wish he'd get a chance to play somewhere
He will...he will be used in a package by the Blue's by the NHL Trade deadline on Feb. 28th...he will become a type #6 Free Agent come the end of this season...so the Blue's don't want to lose him for nothing...he'll be in play soon/somewhere's.

we all know O'Connor is your binky walrus...cornell didn't give up an even strength goal, was plus 1 on the night....Heggerty screwd the pooch on first shift....Nemec was not on top of game. Abbott looked like was coasting at times....
javascript:%20countries.expandit(3)

I can see Cornell coughing up the puck

My Binky? Where did I mention O'connor? Its KIA that loves him. Cornell couldn't move the puck at all, he waited too long to pass all game long and ended up going east west and turning the puck over.

Better not talk that way about Spence

check out the highlight for those that were not at the game............www.hockeyeastonline.com

THink you mean the lowlights! Will need a sweep at BU next weekend to be in position to have home ice. Bad loss last night but obviously this team has some things to learn, and one thing is we can't give up gift goals in the 1st minute.

They play Northeastern.

The gift goal would have been a minor hiccup if we'd played even one period last night like we played in periods 1 and 2 Friday night. I don't think I've ever seen so many defensemen retreat back to the end boards with the puck and then get stripped by the opposing forechecker.

Dear Tim Whitehead and the U. of Maine men's hockey team,

Thank-you for not being Jack Parker or Boston U-esque. For as much crap as I and others have given you over the years (justifiably imo), we certainly appreciate not having to deal with the type of sh1te that other fan base has to endure. That is all.

It does make one wonder...Jackie thought we deserved the death penalty for recruiting violations. What should be the punishment for a team with multiple sex offenders?

Unreal, looks like BU has lost control of the program

East West and then retreat with the puck. Can't believe it happened all game with no changes in how they handled the forecheck

you don't suppose it is all part of a greater master plan, do ya?
The loss to UMass put UMass back into the ranks of the Teams Under Consideration. maine's record against TUCs is now 9-9
if Maine had won that game, the record against TUCs would have been 7-8... that might have flipped some comparisons and possibly have kept maine out of the tourney... it was a loss against UMass that put Maine into its last NCAA tournament, a win would have kept Maine out.
