as much as I hate BU and Scarlet Satan, can WE PLEASE wait until they have been convicted before calling them felons?

remember when Wilson was accused (falsely) of domestic violence? and remember when Hamilton, Clarke, Tyler and on and on were also falsely accused of criminal tresspass, aggravated assault, etc?

accusations mean NOTHING

The loss to UMass put UMass back into the ranks of the Teams Under Consideration. maine's record against TUCs is now 9-9
if Maine had won that game, the record against TUCs would have been 7-8... that might have flipped some comparisons and possibly have kept maine out of the tourney... it was a loss against UMass that put Maine into its last NCAA tournament, a win would have kept Maine out.

That really tells you all you need to know about the pairwise system. What a joke when you're better off losing a game than winning. I actually was thinking going into the weekend that Maine might be better off splitting. I doubt that was Maine's plan though.

Full credit to UMA Saturday, they played a great game. I thought it was a case of them winning more than Maine losing. Parker's sending off was definitely a turning point. I think without that there's a pretty good chance of Maine coming back if that wouldn't have been called. It looked to me like the UMA player turned on him and it was only a two minute penalty but nowadays a ref is always going to call it a major.

If Maine wins that game they stay at 8th in the pairwise instead of dropping to 9th so any of this "they're better off losing" crap is just that. UMA is barely a TUC and will probably not end the season as one as they still have games vs UHN and Merrihack. If they make the HEA playoffs and are still a TUC, losing two games to BC or Lowell will take care of that.

ok, now address the "crap" that put Maine into the tourney the year that they lost to lose to UMass go get in.

staying at 8 in the PWR does not address their better record against TUCs due soleley to the loss... no matter what you wish to be the case

also, the loss to PC HELPS PC be a TUC... if they can somehow claw their way back to being a TUC, it will cause Maine's record against TUCs to be 11-10, again that might flip some comparisons.... if PC and UMass are out, then Maine's record will be 7-8
not sure how that counts for "crap"
sweeping NU this weekend and UMass falling out will cause Maine's record against TUCs to fall to 6-8.
it is simply food for thought... or in the case of me and you, food for you to simply disagree, without addressing the issue

I dont claim to be a pairwise pro, but seems to me that your PWR at the end of the season is just a tad bit more important than right now. :D IOW, not knowing you win every game you can. :D Simple math.

so you are saying that there was nothing redeeming about losing to UMass and to PC... dammit, I thought timmy did a good thing by losing those two games.
phhhht, I tried to give him some credit.

Forsyth is trying to tell us that Maine should have beaten UMass all those years ago and NOT made it to their last frozen 4... odd.

and I gotta say that at least 8 of their teammates agreed that Luc had better wheels end to end, just for flat out speed... until he beefed up on the juice.... I am gonna have to go with those guys over a guy who did not coach them at the time.

Nah. I used to run into Black Eye at games every now and then -- about 6-7 years ago. Different guy. He, Northern Spy, and hockeypuck used to be regulars around here. Pretty knowledgeable group. Too bad they've moved on (hopefully just to other interests :eek: )

Hockey puck is still at games, I think Spy and Blackie got sick of Timmay time

I remember Blackie but not Hockeypuck and Spy all that well. Actually Hockeypuck I do.....spy, not so much. Too bad, you guys could each have bought me beers now that Im down south. :D
