Joey's penalty was stupid, but Flynn's charge followed by ONeill's cross check wasn't stupid? Joey never put the team down 2 men.

None of Joey's penalties led to UMass goal, and I did not see any of Joey's penalties leading to the bears being so tired that they gave one up soon after a PK.

Joey is also the only one who did or said something to get the refs to call a cross check way after they had swallowed their whistles becuase the guy would just not stop gong after joey till he was lieing on the ice.

Joey took a penalty before the freakin puck dropped, it was stupid, it was stupid to cross check the guy going to the penalty box. The other penalties were during the game, I expect them to happen. Sure some are worse than others, Joeys were worse. The best part was Tim sat him for a few shifts, first shift back, assist to Flynn
BTW like Prestin, I love the way Joey plays, he has an attitude, his legs rarely stop pumping but he is better on the ice than in the box.

Diamond did pass Scott Pellerin for 3rd on Maine's PIM list last night. Even though he's toned down his play you have to think the all-time mark will belong to him next year.

That's what I saw. I was amazed he didn't receive a game misconduct.

The passing was horrible tonight, seemed like those 2 goals Flynn popped made his want more, he shot at every chance tonight, on a few 2-1's, and a few bad angle shots. Mangene really needs to pack in the spin-o-rama, hes doing it too often and people are picking up on it.

I love Joey Diamonds play around the net. He is responsible for so many of Maine's goals. He is often treated unfairly, however, the cross check he gave the official as he was going to the penalty box was a stupid penalty.

so... Diamond drives the net full speed, gets pulled down, draws a penalty in the third... and ONeill gets called for slashing away from the play when maine is down by a goal.

and sweeper... please... you gotta tell me because I missed the first three minutes... WHICH pass did Spencer Gretzy make tonight that was good?

I can count at least 4 that he TRIED TO GET TO a team mate that just hit the defender between the two... and I can also count all the times a UMass penalty killer who did not have a stick, take the puck from Gretzbott... If he is not passing to team mates skates, he is putting it squarely into a defenseman.

Props to UMass, they completely dominated Maine tonight, you would have sworn UMass had way more talent than Maine, it was all hard work. You know it was going to be when Sully pulls a Ben Bishop to start the game and it just went downhill form there. It was great watching the top line coast on the back check, just like Alabama Huntsville. Any team that plays Maine just has to forecheck and Maine has absolutely no answers, there isn't one guy who could carry the puck out tonight. I'd be surprised if Cornell plays next week, he was awful in his own zone.

speaking of Penalties, there was no way that was a five minute major on Parker. The Mass Player was sideways to the glass and he sold it when he went to the Ice. I Joey got hit like that , they would call a minor on him for embellishemt. It seems like everytime someone is hit on the boards there is a five minute major called. By the way , I hope that I never See Keenan and Fryor work another game together at the Alfond

Everyone chill out. Yes, they've blown their shot at winning the HE regular season title but that probably wasn't happening anyway. They are still in the hunt for a home playoff berth (thanks BC!) and are still tied for 8th in the pairwise. I won't ever expect any consistency from this team while Whitehead is the coach, but at least we know that they can play with anyone and might do damage in the NCAAs.

KIA knows very little in my opinion. He once violently argued that Luciano Aquino could outskate Todd Jackson. B**ch please.

Pretty happy with this team. Definitely different then the ho hum over the last few years.

Did Wally say he liked a hit since prestin, well that is something to register as a positive.

Watching, albeit from a far... excited about the HE semis.

Nemec was AWFUL 2night also,he was turnover prone from the get-go...Maine did not bring any intensity tonight...I really think you have to keep #5 Cerrtani in the lineup for his all out hustle and scrappy play all around the rink. This is a tough lost in terms that they could lose out for Home Ice in the QF's...Credit does have to go to UMass as you stated...they changed their game tonight and wanted it more..plain and simple.

The fans were awful too last night ............so quiet and subdued...........no intensity.......no one went insane...........except Corky when he blasted the ref for the awful call on the 5 minute boarding penalty..............
Tell the goaler to stay in his net and to stop playing around with the puck on the dump ins "behind" the net.........what happened to the Maine forecheck and dump and chase to beat the trap??

that might have been the absolute worse Nemec has looked all year....and definitely agree with Cerratani. Him on that line with Beattie and Shemansky had been maine's second best line lately. Why break that up?

Well, I've heard sully pulls a bishop. Mangene and a spin o rama, Nemec sucked, Flynn etc! I ain't labeling any one player for last nights god awful game! THEY ALL ********** SUCKED as far as I could tell! Mass beat them to every puck! They jammed up the neutral zone and Maine couldn't get out of their own way! UMass fans were annoying but hey they had every right to be!! By the way WHO in HELL let the UMASS kids in the student section? Back when I went to school at Maine if the other team had fans in OUR section they would have been thrown to hell out over the rail! I guess times have changed!

Sullivan said that he initially stopped the puck on the Minutemen's first goal. He then lost it in his skates and scored it himself.
