UMD plays two games at Anchorage. Games in Alaska are exempted from the NCAA 34-game limit. Not sure that's "fair" but that's the way it's been for a long, long time. The teams that are leaving the WCHA for the B1G or LTHC are going to miss those exemptions.

do you realize that you have not even ONCE contributed a single phrase about how the team plays, about how a single player did anything, or what tim did or didn't do.
all you say is uhh huh and nuhh uunh. do you realize that?
it would be nice if FOR ONCE you would write...."gosh, I guess rufus was right all along, that Whitehead would have better served the team if he had kept the pressure on in the third with a 1 goal lead" or "gosh, I guess sandiego was right" or "I notice that this player is really great with backhand passing, I wonder what would happen if Tim played him on his off wing... he seems to have a lot of chemistry when he is out there with that other rightie"
anything... just SOME hockey-related commentary... but no.. Maine was sucking bad and you where nowhere to be found... now that they have crushed a bunch of crappy teams and have a 4 game win streak against 2 very good ones, you come out of the woodwork to say that the nay sayers are doodie heads.

No, that why I said "hoping"I have no control over whether people support the team or not.
People were giving Tim too much blame before and some are guilty of giving him too much credit now. I credit these players who always had it within them to do well, it just took them a while to find it.

Abbott gave him an ultimatum. Notice how all of the UM teams have started to win more recently.

That might be true, but if Hockey East is so bad.......what does that say about the rest of the country? HE has 5 of the top 11 PWR teams as of right now.

While I agree, Maine has been less than average so beating average teams is pretty good. Expectations have dropped considerably in the last few years. They've dropped so much Alfond doesn't even sell out any more, alot of long time tickets holders are no where to be found and donor money is off considerably. Heck 50-50 jackpot is never over 300 bucks, I've seen it over 1800 before and it always was 1200 or better. Its a different program now

Whatta weekend. I see Maine goin 7-2 or at worst 6-3 down the stretch. Maybe a loss to Lowell and perhaps one to either Northeastern, UNH or UMass That will give us 20 or more wins and prob no worse than a 3 seed in a given bracket. The NCAA's are our's for the takin at this point. It would take a bad collapse against inferior teams to not get in.

Ehh, I thought I was pretty clear.
To me, the recent results show me how far Maine has fallen. While 4-0 vs. BU/BC in back to back weekends is not something that happens at all, how many 0-2 weekends vs. UMass have Maine had in the past 5 years? Or how many losses have we had to schools like Bentley? 1-1 weekends with Lowell (before they were "awesome")? I am excited and happy for the players but settle the "f" down people, these are regular season wins. We used to expect these. It is so rare that Maine plays good hockey 2 weekends in a row and there are some popping champagne corks. I am enjoying their success but really, they are just doing what most of us long time "real" Maine fans want to see for an entire season.
I hope Maine keeps it going.
