Travel 4: All Around the World Same Song

Air Force is the country club of the armed services. My kid decided 15 years(ROTC and then 11 years ) of his life was too much of his life to dedicate to the Navy.

Will be off to the airport in just a few hours, then into Minneapolis Sunday a.m. CST. Very happy to be home again but it will be bittersweet leaving our eldest behind even though I'm so very happy for him and his next chapter in life.

Think of the exciting time for him!

Then enjoy the quiet. :-)

I need ideas for a Saturday in Philly. We're giving a friend an emergency lift and we'll have the day tomorrow.

There is the obvious Revolutionary War stuff (Liberty Bell). If you want to take a walk and check out things on foot, there is a good amount of exploring that can be done around the "Rocky Steps" (can't remember the formal name of the building).

You can also just go to Broad Street and punch random people and be considered a local ;-)

Early Welcome Home buddy! Might want to avoid The Fair ;^)

I was thinking maybe start a race war.

The Rocky steps are to the Art Museum.

El Travieso Taqueria in Deephaven of all places is highly recommended! I've also heard good things about Taco Teresa's near Ridgedale but cannot yet vouch.

Went out on Tonka today and thankfully missed any rain. A light sweatshirt did the trick.

Maynard's had great dry rub wings but their walleye sandwich was not as good as I remember. Bummer.

Tomorrow we go down to campus to look around, map out his classrooms and then if the weather complies go to the Twins game.
