This Week In Hockey East, Volume II: Now Even Hockey East-ier!

Re: This Week In Hockey East, Volume II: Now Even Hockey East-ier!

I'm not joking TTT, that I really can't stand BC! You guys are becoming the equivalent to the men's Maine fans. Whatever happened to humilite', as the French say....

I'm a little disappointed. I strive to be better than that. If I have not reached "Insufferable BC Men's Hockey Fan Obnoxious" status then I am really not doing my job properly.

I hope that your presumption that Ms. Carpenter is going to Socchi does not jinx her. I would be very willing to bet that there is not one player on that squad that would say today, for sure, they know they will make the final cut. Because yes, there will be one, and there are months of arduous training between this day and final cut day. Days in which anything can happen. Don't put the cart before the horse Tiger;)

She would go to Sochi regardless if I'm not mistaken, wouldn't she? In case of injuries?

I had heard pretty clearly that there is no chance of her returning to BC's roster this year.

While I might not always agree with your takes, your "Toot the home teams horn" type of reporting is always entertaining to read.

Just to highlight a few gems for those too lazy to read the whole report:

Modesty be darned: :D
"No one should challenge Boston College in Hockey East this year with Northeastern and Boston University both sustaining heavy losses. It’s a one-team show."

Modesty be darned take 2: :D
"featuring a particularly embarrassing 10-0 loss to the Eagles"

Good to see you are recognizing some Canadiana: :) :) :)
"Minnesota, last year's 41-0-0 juggernaut, loses a ton -- a metric tonne, even -- of talent. "

Don't forget this one!
The ladies got a nice warmup this past weekend in an exhibition matchup again the Western Ontario Mustangs and took a physical 2-0 win. Not the kind of score that would really blow you away, but they were all Canadians, so, I mean, that's like beating the Blackhawks. Or something.

I was more impressed by your definition of a 2-0 win with a late empty-net goal as "cruising". You should be in politics. "It's a very prosperous recession."

Hey, I once dubbed you a d.o.u.c.h.e...should it be double d.o.u.c.h.e? :p

If the past is any indication, most centralized players sit out the whole year, even if they get cut in the fall. I do recall one case in the past of a player returning to her team name escapes me.

Jocelyne Larocque -- it worked out pretty well in her case.

The team will be named during the Winter Classic in Ann Arbor. Those not named to the roster don't travel with the team.

When is that? Curious what Carpenter would decide to do in the (EXTREMELY) unlikely event she doesn't make the team.

EDIT: Oh, that Winter Classic. Any guesses what would happen?

No kidding ARM....why have that honor given to a renown gender biased shmuck, at a school that doesn't have a women's team? Who gives a crap what Michigan thinks anyway? Total BS and politics....

So they are making the announcement before a live crowd of possibly 100k hockey fans.....

The only rational thing to do would be to blame BC (or you personally) for her getting cut and transfer immediately to BU.
