This Week In Hockey East, Volume II: Now Even Hockey East-ier!

Re: This Week In Hockey East, Volume II: Now Even Hockey East-ier!

So they are making the announcement before a live crowd of possibly 100k hockey fans.....

And a NBC TV audience of millions.

No kidding ARM....why have that honor given to a renown gender biased shmuck, at a school that doesn't have a women's team? Who gives a crap what Michigan thinks anyway? Total BS and politics....

Has nothing to do with Michigan and everything to do with NBC, USA Hockey, the USOC, and the NHL.

It'll be nice if they show the announcement, but I'll believe it when I see it. Usually when a network does show any hockey, they can't wait to get back to the New York studio so they can spend more time talking about college hoops and which NFL coach may be on the hot seat. And commercials, lots and lots of commercials. I'll say they show a quick shot of a couple of players in red, white, and blue waving to the fans, mention that the team was named, and get back to "more important" matters. :(

Depends if NBC has Olympics it is a nice tie in to promote.

I agree that they'll do that. We'll hear, "The Olympic Games, coming in February on the networks of NBC." I just don't expect to hear 20 names announced on the air. I'd love to be wrong.

More likely a short blurb about a player or two they choose to promote as the face(s) of the team.

It should be noted that the University of Michigan has nothing to do with this besides providing the facility. It is entirely an NHL/NBC production.

Isn't it both Men's and Women's Teams that are being announced at this event?

If McGuire is involved, I suspect a few players will be highlighted. It would be part of showcasing them for John Q public, so they become familiar with the names. My guess would be that the Lam Twins would be some of the highlighted players.

Based on the pics being shared by NBC on Twitter, they're featuring the Lams, Kessel, Chu, and a couple others.

Trying to watch the BC - Maine game now. is anyone getting it to work? I subscribed to the game, and the commercial works, then it goes into a permanent "Loading" do loop.
