THE University of MICHIGAN 2021-22

So what, specifically, is your personal beef?

" ... the accusation of telling guys to lie on Covid forms at the Fargo regional ... " and the series of events that (or did not*) follow.

*Should Michigan have been allowed to travel to Fargo in the first place or were their forms filled out "correctly" to allow travel.

Had Michigan withdrawn properly, like St. Lawrence, they could've been replaced. As opposed to what happened.

Michigan withdrew like Notre Dame did- when it was too late to find an alternative. Are you all upset with Jeff Jackson, too? Or just Michigan?

Again, if there were actual NCAA violations, the easiest button would have been to just let April 30 pass by and announce a HC opening. Or if there was some terrible violation.

Even if they didn't travel, would it have changed anything? Didn't make a difference when ND withdrew.

From what I can see, nothing would have been different. UMD got the bye, and you lost.

If you are concerned about other teams getting COVID from Michigan, was there an outbreak at the regional that prevented any other games? I don't recall anyone having problems at that regional other than Michigan.

I'll point out, again, if there was any serious issue from that, the EASY button would have been to just let the contract expire, and announce a HC position opening on May 1. Supposedly you know something about running a company- is it not logical to you to let a contract that you are not happy with expire and find a different path, given there are zero legal barriers? Since that didn't happen- which you did predict would happen- I openly wonder the legs of your "point".

So I'm still not sure what your beef is.

If they misrepresented close contacts on forms (the accusation) and traveled to Fargo when they should have been precluded, that's my beef. As SFC says, a replacement would've been found and UMD would've been something other than daisy fresh at the start of the 5OT game.

Side note: That's another Fargo regional game featuring UND that spurred a rule change. The first was BU/UND and the "off sides review" rule. This game got the "off day" at the regionals in place (because what if the 5OT had been a regional semi and not regional final).

I had a dentist appt. yesterday. She was doing the gum cleaning and commented "I see you've been eating popcorn". Actually happened. I'm trying garlic butter on it now.

Notre Dame canceled two days before their game, and they didn't give a replacement. So timing would matter. Even if they didn't travel, that doesn't mean they could have gotten a replacement on short notice.

Then again, I'm not sure why your opinion even matters- it's not as if you will magically root for Michigan, ever. Gee, people in North Dakota hate Michigan... that's a tough one to deal with, for sure....

You lost. It was 2021. Deal with it.

You're right: I won't change my opinion of Michigan.

Why my opinion matters is easy: I voice my displeasure should Michigan's (allegedly) untoward actions* end up hurting North Dakota's chances. And, pending results from an investigation, that may have occurred.

This has been 180+ days. Dare I ask if this one is being slow-walked.

*namely the allegation that Pearson told players to lie on Covid tracking forms, forms of which we do not know the dates and potential ramifications, hence the investigation

Personally, anyone who hurts UND's chances is ok by me.

it's just a guess, but my dentist would probably say the same exact thing...

any everything with garlic on it is better.

Not to change the subject but for those of you following Wolverines in the World Championship tourney, not only are there now five playing for USA and one for Canada but Brian Lebler (class of 2010) is playing for Austria.
