No, you did move the goalposts. You were one who thought he would be gone because the contract would just run out.

Has that happened? No, it has not.

So since that hasn't happened, you now claim victory because the contract wasn't signed. Ok. Good luck with that.

Logic would dictate that the contract is being delayed until the investigation is fully played out. Logic would also dictate that since he's still coaching that whatever was being investigated wasn't so bad that 1) he wasn't fired in the middle of the season and 2) it wasn't so serious to just let the contract terminate.

Could he still be not resigned? Sure, anything can happen. But at this point, it's far from as serious as most of you want to make it out to be, since he's still here after all of the clean break points. And he's still coaching without a contract, with a coaching staff that is still here, with players who have not left, and with a recruiting class that had 6 players at the recent U18 championships. If that's your sky falling, ok.

Remember to visit the MDen on your way out of town. You clearly have some fascination with this program- so reward yourself with a good Bo like hat.

Is Mel under contract today, right now? If so, why has it not been announced (lack of news)?
Or is it Michigan has a "coach" who is not under contract? <-- And that's not newsworthy?

Most of us aren't "fascinated". But some are hyperventilating. While driving through AA my main goal is to get to the other side while safely avoiding badly-driven prii and volvos.

Well I've run out of popcorn so I'll leave with a couple of thoughts. To me the "toxic environment" translates to "OMG he wants me to work hard - waa". BFD. But if he did ask players to lie, he needs to go. Not sure what takes a couple months to find out the answer to that. I really don't care if he stays or goes. Carry on.
 
Oh and not to mention a GLI without the biggest name brand possible...good luck with that. Maybe Michigan State hockey can carry that torch...LOL

Biggest name brand possible??? How did you come up with that? U of MI isn't even the biggest U of M brand in B1G hockey.
 
Good lord. For the GLI. Not that tough to grasp. But here's to a Ferris-NMU GLI title game played in front of friends and family.

Already obvious to those outside of AA, but Michigan Hockey isn't even the biggest draw on their own campus, much less at the GLI or in the Big. No one is going to miss hearing Hail played at every other whistle at the GLI because the student band is watching their football team lose a bowl game and the alumni only know one tune.

As for Merv, many feel that since the contract ended and he is "still the coach" per the administration means he's staying. I think the opposite. If there was no fire behind the smoke, they would have wrapped this investigation months ago and released the findings showing there was no wrong doing. The fact that it continues to drag on tells me there are real issues being investigated. Not renewing Marv still gives the school the option to let him go if they need to keep the findings of the investigation sealed when it finally wraps up.

Wait, what? We're going to lose our coach AND we're not the biggest draw at the GLI?

Never said anything about Michigan hockey compared to its other sports or the Big Ten. Just the GLI. So help me out then. Over the years at JLA, what school brought the most fans? I am assuming Michigan but correct me if I am wrong. I am sure dumpster fire of a program Mich State will carry this great tournament forward.

Well it hasn’t been just us. Lots of the country has been doing it. Work colleague graduates from Toledo, for example.

In the Early to Mid-80's (Pre-Red years when tourney was at JLA) It very much was MSU/Fans/Alums/Student band (Football team wasn't going bowling) who filled seats for GLI.

Taking off my Green and White glasses for a minute I'm baffled as to why Michigan is no longer part of GLI?!?.....Is it schools choice or organizers? Like someone said earlier have fun trying to sell tix for Ferris/NMU Final.
