The States : red states in a race to the bottom

So we had special election in Hennepin county two weeks ago where the dem beat the R nominee, a woman named Marisa simonetti. Simonetti lives in Edina.

she has a long history of legal issues and was charged with fraud a few months ago. A few days ago Edina pd arrested her for assault as she threw a tarantula at her tenant . There is now video of her throwing the tarantula at her tenant who she screamed is a squatter

now more coming out about her abusing her ex boyfriend, local reporter Lou raguse has a photo where she appears to have the ex in a chokehold

it’s like a poor man’s version of bobo but in Edina

Oh she is sending out serious meth vibes...

She's kinda hot in a, "You may think this was just a one-night stand but I am going Glenn Close on your ass forever" sort of way.

Oh she is sending out serious meth vibes...

I worked with hundreds of meth users over the past five years…she definitely has the face structure. Also, her lips are dry. Would be important to see her teeth. The history of erratic behavior could be a result of meth (or drug) use. No open sores, scabs, and/or scars though. Her eyes look like they may be blood shot, but they’re not dilated, so she’s probably not acutely high in the mug shot. Coin flip for me. Otherwise, personality disorder? Maybe antisocial? Okay, I’m done.

Antisocial or BPD.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month. A year later, nearly half of participants had housing
  • The Denver Basic Income Project helped participants secure housing and full-time jobs.
  • The pilot program provided direct cash payments to over 800 Coloradans experiencing homelessness.
  • Results showed 45% of participants secured housing, while $589,214 was saved in public service costs.
Denver's basic income pilot — which first started payments in fall 2022 — focused on over 800 Coloradans experiencing homelessness, including people living in cars, temporary shelters, the outdoors, or other non-fixed living situations. Participants like Laws were given direct cash payments, no strings attached, and could spend the money on whatever they needed.

Denver released the project's one-year report on June 18, showing that 45% of participants secured their own house or apartment after receiving basic income for 10 months. They also experienced fewer emergency room visits, nights spent in a hospital or a temporary shelter, and jail stays. The report estimates that this reduction in public service use saved the city $589,214.

Denver's program initially lasted one year and was extended in January for another six months. Participants were sorted into random groups: one received $1,000 a month for a year; another got $6,500 upfront, followed by $500 a month; and a third got $50 a month as a control group.

That misses the big picture. Money given out was spent locally including on things such as housing and paying for goods and services, in addition it increased the employment rate for those that participated. It also noted that, 'They also experienced fewer emergency room visits, nights spent in a hospital or a temporary shelter, and jail stays" have additional benefits that aren't easily measured monetarily.

Most of the participants were likely already receiving various forms of government assistance, and the long-term benefits of getting people out of very dire circumstances is better for society at large. It's one of the reasons why we fund public education just for starters.

So the Somalis on trial in MN for the fraud? One of the few who was acquired has now been charged with bribing the juror.

these people are beyond stupid. Caught casing the jurors house. Wiping phones. They also delivered a book that told the juror how to sway other jurors (poor immigrants, people are racist against Somalis)

how the hell they were able to hide the money from feds before the bribe is nuts, I thought they’d have been able to freeze the funds that were stolen and not spent

yea, racism is your real issue here. Snicker

Alpha News...when the Epoch Times doesn't go far enough!

(of course Epoch is now dead as it was just a money laundering operation)

TIL Grand Rapids, MN held their first ever Pride event with roughly 2,000 in attendance.

Right wingers complained to the city that "children were being groomed" and the "event should never happen again." Not surprised. But as an elder queer, "destroying the sanctity of marriage" never worked for them, "trans people committing bathroom sexual assault" didn't work either, and "grooming" will eventually fall just as flat.
