The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

It's been that way for a few years now. The reasoning is the #1 seed always plays the early game because it gives them more "rest" since they have to play the next night. One of the perks you get for being #1. Originally it was a "TV decision" (meaning they would put what they considered the "feature" game on in prime time), but the league decides now.

It's been that way since at least the mid 90s.

Just wanted to pass along my congratulations as well. It was a pleasure watching Nate the Great build the program at Union and now it definitely seems like he's doing the same at Providence. Win it in BAHston -- Good luck!

For those who don't know - and are planning to go to the game on Friday. There is a pre-game get together planned by PC hockey supporters. It's at a bar called "The Greatest Bar" its right across the street at 262 Friend St. It gets started at 3:00pm and will be on the 4th floor of the bar.

I hate being 20.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

I have an extra ticket for Friday night. I bought four but one had to back out SO if you need a single then feel free to contact me.

I bought through the team and it's going to be either Loge or club. I'm just not sure on the exact seat yet, I just know the location is good. :)

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Good Luck to PC. I'm over losing our great coach, Nate is top shelf all the way, but we have a great replacement in "your" Rick Bennett. Here's to a Frozen Four showdown someday soon. ;)

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Can't believe PC scheduled the end of year dinner on April 1, the Sunday that starts the Frozen 4 week and I know some folks had already purchased tickets to Florida for a week long vacation with the games as part of the trip.......

Well, it was probably scheduled long ago. Heck, if the team makes the Frozen Four, they will have to postpone it.

Okay, okay, the rose colored glasses are out. ;)

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

So something has come up and I can't make the game Saturday. If anyone is interested, I have ONE seat - Club Section 113 Row A Seat 11 (club seats, right behind the loge, just inside the blue line). $35.00 (no Ticketmaster fees). If you want to wait until you see if your team wins, I can meet you after the game Friday night. Let me know and we'll arrange. If you think you may be interested, reply and I'll give you my email.

Re: The rebirth of Providence College Hockey

Well as luck would have it, I have plans this weekend that are impossible to change so I will not be able to make the trek to Boston - after waiting 11 years to do so. Ugh! A Friar win tonight would be rather sweet and a Friar win tomorrow night sweeter still. It seems that whenever I cannot attend the finals in person, the Friars win the championship, the Friars win. Let's see what happens.
