Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

In the USCHO.com Preseason Poll, perhaps what is most telling is that five of the top eight teams are members of the upcoming National Collegiate Hockey Conference. Additionally, #1 Notre Dame would make six of the top eight if they join the new conference.

well there's no point in playing any games this season then. This here poll is telling us everything we need to know. ;)

CHN reporting that Notre Dame may choose Hockey East over the NCHC:

Now there are indications Hockey East is the choice, although things aren't a done deal yet. Something could be announced, though, within a matter of days... The NCHC seems, at this point, to be less willing to acquiesce to Notre Dame, while Hockey East is a better fit....

If Notre Dame goes to Hockey East, expect Hockey East to pursue adding a 12th team. Hockey East commissioner Joe Bertagna acknowledged Tuesday that he's been holding up scheduling for the 2013-14 season while waiting to hear from Notre Dame, and acknowledged that an even number of teams is a favorable scenario.

CHN also reporting NCHC a bit resistant to come to terms with the self absorbed Dame from Notre:

Colorado College athletic director Ken Ralph, a main mover in the NCHC, hasn't come right out and said anything either. But it seems clear that the NCHC is more resistant to Notre Dame's plans... "We really wanted to be at eight. We won't go beyond nine," Ralph said...

At this point, the only possible ninth team is Notre Dame, under the right terms. The league won't go beyond eight for anyone except Notre Dame at this point.

Jerry York comments on Notre Dame potentially choosing Hockey East:

"We'd love for them to come to our conference," Eagles Coach Jerry York said. "We'd think it's a win-win for both of us. It'd certainly add to our league, with an outstanding program, a nationally recognized Division I program in all sports. I think that would be a real benefit for us. It would also be a win for Notre Dame, as they'd come into an established conference. It would be an interesting scenario, how that plays out."

Not so fast this was tweeted by CHN after the above story was released.

Don't sign up Notre Dame for HEast just yet ... NCHC/Notre Dame still talking about TV issues

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

What is shocking is that Michigan has the #1 recruiting class in the country, according to CHN. Has that ever happened in their history?

CHN Recruiting said:
Now, as the 2011-12 college hockey season approaches at last, here's our look — in no particular order — at nine of the nation's best incoming freshman classes.

FWIW, they weren't ranking 1-9. Michigan is listed first though.

Perhaps in Dg's rankings.
Well, me and perhaps the Redline Report that had NCHC teams in 3 of the top 4 spots...

1. North Dakota (NCHC).

2. Miami (NCHC).

3. Minnesota (B1G).

4. Denver (NCHC).

5. Harvard (Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference).

6. Ohio State (B1G).

7. Vermont (Hockey East).

8. Cornell (ECAC).

9. Northeastern (HEA).
