Also here are some tweets by College Hockey News:

So Mr. Priceless, in a way you are somewhat right. I give you that.

Somewhat? How is that different from what I said? This is a PR move by the LTHC to make it look like they went ahead without Notre Dame rather than letting ND turn them down. Anyone except a total shill for the conference can see that.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Notre Dame rejects superstardom?

Wow. Western Michigan/SCSU > Notre Dame. Right?

No, WMU+SCSU >>>>>>>>>>>>> Notre Dame
Quite a coup getting those two programs instead of the Irish.

So, uh, when do we hear more about this awesome TV deal the LTHC will have with NBC/Versus?

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

how are those NaCHos(C) tasting about now?

Fixed.

This announcement was a PR move, but not solely because ND said no. The NaCHo(C) conference wanted to make the first move in announcing there would be no ND, to make it LOOK like it was ONLY themselves that said no to ND. Truth is, it probably was a mutual decision. No one was giving in, so there was no way ND was joining. By announcing this, the NaCHo(C) conference looks like they were in charge.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

From Mike McMahon of the Eagle Tribune

No surprise, but multiple sources saying Notre Dame to HEA all but official. Ironing out details still.
Several sources indicating that Notre Dame is expected to announce its decision to join Hockey East on Wednesday. Could still change
Again, no surprise, but ND's decision to join HEA was based "very largely" on television, according to source.

Notice the wording in that last tweet..."ND's decision"...

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

It was funny for a while, but now it's actually getting sad for those teams out west. Everything that could have possibly gone wrong with this thing has happened. I wonder if the WCHA would let Duluth come back?

I'm still laughing.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

At this point it doesn't matter that ND is not joining the NCHC. I applaud the NCHC for not allowing the Notre Dame program to hold them hostage. Notre Dame to HE makes sense for a lot of reasons. Heck they probably wanted the East anyway. There is no BIG TV deal for anyone. College Hockey will be happy to get a game on a network, but it really won't draw new fans or more exposure to a sport that is very niche.

The TV thing just gives all of us an opportunity to see more teams and more games. Just my thoughts.

Are you kidding me? With ND, the NCHC just doesn't make sense.

I applaud the NCHC for not allowing the Notre Dame program to hold them hostage.

What did they ask for that was so horrible? Or are you just assuming that because Notre Dame chose Hockey East instead?

Do you just assume that Notre Dame didn't have any stipulations to join the NCHC because they had no intentions of joining since they chose Hockey East instead?

I'm not the one saying they were holding anyone hostage.

Looks like it was a good thing that Bruce McLeod didn't let the inmates run the asylum. These guys are making him look like better and better every day.
