The solid source is a current college hockey coach I spoke with extensively during this weekend as I was out of town. Manurespreader hit the points, which I thought were the obvious ones. For some it may just be buyers remorse, some realized that some one is going to be the door mat, they didn't like how it happened, nor how quickly.

Not to sound like I'm patting myself on the back but if you look far back on the ND thread I stated that ND would possibly go independent. It gives them the best option if they can make it work, they have the name but of course not the hockey history.

I would say that 99.9% of what is said on this thread is pure bull ****. If I don't read it in at least three newspaper articles, it didn't happen. We need hockey to starlet up again so we can put these rumors to bed for another 9 months.

Probably. What I see are four teams consistently battling for the cellar. Teams like CC, Miami, UNO and even national champ UMD better watch out.

Search for the first commissioner has begun. It is being led by Ken Ralph of CC, Ron Grahame of DU and Carl Hirsh of Stafford Sports.

Nobody has contacted me yet about being the new commissioner of the NCHC. But, I will consider it if they call.

after the wcha fires Bruce, it will look for the whiniest person in order to run the now whiniest conference. I see no better fit than a st cloud fan so hang in there...

I think you've confused whinieness with inanity, or inaneness, or being simply inane. ( I learned that word from Handyman)

In your case, yes you are right. Inane is the right word. For some of your brethern though, whinny IS the right word.

Are UNO, CC and Miami fans programs that have always had a consistent level of success? If you follow their histories as a program I would say probably not. They have had up and down years.

I hear you, but will such inconstent success fly in this new conference as well as it did previously? I hope so but I don't think wondering is a ludicrous contemplation.

I can see why some folks would be critical of the move. I truly believe the NCHC will be able to grab better recruits than other conferences.

What's fascinating is how with one breath they tell those of us left behind on The Island of Misfit Toys about how this change is really good for us, and in the next breath talk about the big recruiting advantage they will now have.
