The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

That is true, but this league was always about recruiting and DU has been landing some great recruits for 2013 since the league was announced.
And of course by "always" you actually mean it became about recruiting after everyone here shot holes in every other invented rationalization for the league's formation.

That being said; with only six, seven or eight teams to share the playoff revenue, less travel needed for a smaller league with and fairly large buildings to host the playoffs and championships I wouldn't expect too much of a drop-off from the $100,000 per team playoff shares currently available in the WCHA.

So instead of $200k - $500k revenue losses for each team; it'll only be $100k - $400k? I'm imagining that fat TV contract will make up the difference. Right? Oh wait ... whut?

More details about the new offices from DU's Website.

The Broadmoor Hotel is one of the most beautiful locations in the world and to be able to use the classic buildings next door is an unbelievable opportunity. Colorado Springs Airport is less than 15 minutes away and Denver's Airport is about an hour and a half.

And the famous "Golden Bee" is only 0.5 miles! Cheers, :)

After this new league had to form who would have thought Minnesota and Wisconsin leaving would be such a small drop off for the WCHA and more importantly the new league.

"This league was always about recruiting" should be entered in the preposterous statement tournament. Denver, CC and UND were always getting great recruits.

This league is about chopping off what Denver and UND saw as "dead weight" in SCSU, MSU-M, UAA, BSU and MTU, and the delusions of grandeur that these programs with horrible media markets would somehow be able to sucker some network into giving them a TV deal.

dggoddard, is that water you are carrying for the NCHC getting heavy yet?

Tipsy,that's not water he's carrying. It's kool-aid.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

DU gets good recruits anyway.
Unless these kids have said they picked DU because of the league, how can you be sure they wouldn't have gone there anyway?

Because that doesn't support what he has been saying for months.:D

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Wouldn't it just be at total kicker here after all of the posturing that WMU has done this summer, that they get shut out when ND opts to join the NCHA and they end up bringing Huntsville along in some "For the good of College Hockey" moment???

Won't happen.
I mean just ask some of the NCHC fans.
Bringing in UAH, isn't what "The National" is all about.

I still fail to see what the Little Ten Hockey Conference is all about, if not a NATIONAL CONFERENCE for COLLEGE HOCKEY teams. I could be wrong, but I think those words might be part of their chosen name...

Fact is, it is very clear that no conference is interested in taking in UAH. It's a shame but it definitely looks that way.

Maybe College Hockey Inc. could throw their weight behind Huntsville getting into the NCHA. Just tell those schools that they won't put them on any of their names and pictures of them on whatever brochures that they give to kids north of the border unless they add the Alabama school to the fold.

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

So the WCHA as 10 teams, and the Superleague falls apart, then what??? It's gonna get interesting!!

Re: The new Super League is going down the tubes.

Over the weekend from a very solid source 4 of Superleague teams are now kicking themselves asking what did they get themselves into.
