The Great Badger Coaching Search of '23: Start Drinking Heavily

So they showed the tOSU athletic director but not McIntosh. Did Mac skip the frozen four? Inexcusable if he did.

EDIT: Mac was there. He’s in the team photo.

Yes cool that Mac was there to support them. A lot of people ripping on him (myself especially) for being part of the incompetent administration that has led to the men's situation. Hopefully he just made a huge mistake in judgement last year by keeping Granato, and he actually cares about the hockey program and will make a killer hire.

Anyone got a bead on Mac's official travel plans these past/next 2 weeks? Lol someone file an open records/FOIA request!

I wonder if he would even show up at the tourney...my guess is that he would rather operate fully under the radar.

Radio silence has been his MO, so I wonder if he also makes anyone he has contact with sign a NDA.

I dont think there was any way Moe was coming back under current or former circumstances. Best for him tp gp to a team that has established coach with great blue liners in front of him.

Not that I think he would be a candidate, but Kris Mayotte from CC got extended. Western Michigan is out and it looks like the purple cows will be done as well today. So Mac's time for interviews if these guys are interested will be soon.

Down goes Denver too. I don't know. There is something terrible making Denver play in New Hampshire.

Also, that sheet of ice looked like it was brutally soft and slow. Just a muck bucket game.

NCAA needs to do something about these crap neutral venues theu choose. Crowd was awful.

Does Mankato have an airport?? :-):)

I watched most of that game and Denver looked lost and / or disinterested.

The answer is to the venue is to do regionals of 4 teams each at the #1 seeds home barn (kind of like women's volleyball).

So then you block out the dates at the Kohl Center 3-4 years out and hold those dates until the Monday after your conference tournament just in case you’ll be a #1 seed. You have to block out 4-5 days, which means no shows, concerts or any other activity. How do you get a venue that’s as in demand as the Kohl to do that after they just had to hold the previous weekend for league playoffs? It’s a lot to expect a venue like that to block out dates for events that may or may not happen.

Do results of this tournament sway your opinion? Larson is 7 years younger than Hastings. If he beats the Gophers tomorrow is he your top guy?

They are already doing that for the Big7 conference tourney. If they don't want to host it can move to the 2 seed, and so on. They can do that or have an agreement to use the Coliseum. We were at the coliseum a few years ago for Big Ten tourney, when it was WIAA weekend. Do you like seeing or think it's good for college hockey to have 1,500 fans in attendance? Paid attendance was 3,600 for WMU-BU and Cornell Denver, 5,000 for Minn/Canisisus. Many less than that in the seats. What it the solution you think would work?

I watched that game and I liked their style of play. He's been on great there, and I would hope he's on the list of people Mac is talking to.

And I hope they smoke the goofers.
