Actually that is wrong...as shown in any of the Purple States that went for Biden or Blue in the midterms!
That is why I always laugh when Cons talk about how California and New York are losing population...they think it is some gotcha about how Blue States are running off people...forgetting that they are moving where it is cheap (Red States) and completely screwing up the votes. That is why they can't figure out how they keep losing in Arizona and Georgia. They think it is funny that Dems are moving to Texas but they won't in about 5 years when the demographic shifts due to death and moving prison rape them.

I don't know about NY but for CA a lot of those emigrees are cons who are moving to AZ and TX, similar to Rust Belt Olds moving to FL and AZ. It's not great, electorally.

A lot of the California emigres are cons just moving to places like Idaho or Montana. Some are moving to Texas and Arizona but it’s not that many.
