See the German fans when Klose scored? That's how Americans should celebrate. Cool, calm and collected. Just a typical second game, no big whoop.

And if they go 0-2 it's moot. There have been very few ties so far and a US win puts them through more clearly than other scenarios coupled with a German loss.

The US is more than capable of beating Portugal even with Ronaldo at 100%

ESPN announcer says there is unity in the Nigerian camp after "incidents and accidents." No word on hints and allegations.

To protect themselves, they're offering a deal where anyone who volunteers to bodyguard the team will get to be their long lost pals.

Yeah I doubt too many people are going to be misty eyed watching reactions to that goal.

Awful offsides call in the Bosnia-Nigeria game. Bosnia forward was a yard onside and the official didn't call it until he had dribbled twice and shot.

Americans create reaction videos to pretty much everything. Hell, we made a reaction video to a TV show. We made reaction videos of people watching another video.

Why does it bother you so much that people are celebrating a victory in the World Cup? Most of these people don't know a free kick from a corner kick but are happy the US won. Soccer fans are always complaining that it never gets any attention, then when it does complain about how people act. Maybe if people felt the soccer snobs out there weren't going to take offense at everything they did, people would take more of a liking to the sport. German fans, Argentine fans, Ghana fans, Brazil fans - they all celebrate goals and victories. Does it really offend your sensibilities that much that a few American fans splice together the American celebrations and make a video?

Scenarios for US:

One win against either Portugal or Germany and they're in. Draw against both and they're in. Lose both and they're out. Anything else and it gets messy.

Frustrating to see Germany get a little gunshy on their finishes. Schweinsteiger in particular has a Rooney/Altidore-esque way of playing excellently without scoring.

The more I think about this, the more worried I am if we don't beat Portugal tomorrow.

Germany will need a result to assure qualification for sure and I'd worry about what Ghana could do to Portugal if they can get in with a win. To say nothing of where Portugal would sit with a win.

Yeah, I suspect that we're boned if we don't beat Portugal.
