Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

That's easier than you think - an engineer friend of mine was stationed at Embraer for a couple years. Between housing allowance, overtime, etc, he was pulling down about $200K/yr during the stay. In Brazil, that made him a god - he dated MANY models during that stint, and he was 5'4" and looked exactly like country singer Aaron Tippin (including the 70's porn 'stache).

well, I am starting to wonder about it all after that one Iranian shot that just went over the crossbar. ;)

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

Has Iran had possession in the Argentina side of the half line yet?

They have had two really good chances of scoring in the second half.

Not as many as Argentina has....

But this is 5 vs. 43.

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

Iran's gonna screw around and come out of this with a draw.

And I guess when you're 5 v 43, you do what Iran did -- turn it into a 45 minute game. Second half has been pretty good. And somehow the Iranian chances have seemed better to me in the second half.

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

Look how calmly those Argentinian fans were when Messi scored. They were all like, "Meh, it's only our second game. Wake me when we get to the quarters."

HHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHGAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAGAHAHAHAHA

Nice

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

So Germany and Ghana play the middle game today and USA vs Portugal is the last game tomorrow...not that it's a huge deal but doesn't that strike anyone else as odd?

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

The USA v Portugal was moved to the late game because it's in Manaus, not sure if the late game today was switched for some reason....

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

Meh. Up in Minnesota there are a lot of Germans. So I guess I'm used to it. That and I'm a quarter German so I always root for them.

I've got a quarter as well along with my Scottish, English, and Native American roots

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)

German, Norwegian, Czech, and I discovered last year Pole. All equal.

Re: The FIFA World Cup Thread (Spoilers Welcome)
