What kind of potentate travels without a food taster?

Following President Obama’s lunch meeting with Senate Republicans on Capitol Hill, Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins described the food served and said the president was not able to eat since his “taster” was not present.

Yes. How dare he use a law already on the books. That's clearly an impeachable offense. What a great show of rationality and composure.

Also, despite your hyperbolic rant, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that the starred out word began with an 'f'.

No point in trying to reason with BigGopherDumbGuy. Another con butthurt over the spanking he received in the last Presidential election. And they wonder why they get laughed at.

I don't understand. What did you think he meant?

I think he meant what I'm giving him credit for saying because i have no reason to think otherwise. But as craig said, there's another term that fits and is used all too often in conjunction with calls to impeach this President.

 By who, exactly? That's a pretty serious charge.
(In fact, I don't think I've ever heard someone call for Obama's impeachment in any language, but I don't usually watch TV so... I admit I may have missed it)

On that point, you are as full of crap as a Christmas goose. Perhaps you could provide us with just one example of what you're alleging. Of course, one important segment of HIM-B1's base does use that word countless thousands of times a day. But that doesn't count, does it?

Is it arrogance or prejudice that impels you to give someone the "benefit of the doubt" that he's not racist? Or both?

Obviously true, but I was interested to see if unofan would take back his thoughtless lies and apologize without calling him out on it.

Well, you've gotten your answer, haven't you? To me there's a rough analogy between the willingness of liberals to impute racism to people they disagree with and the willingness of conservatives in the McCarthy era to impute communism to people they disagreed with. It's the universal argument stopper. Designed to put the accused immediately on the defensive and, of course, instantly change the subject.

Sadly, IMO, this is the world many liberals live in: any disagreement with the president is believed to stem from racial animosity. And he has stoked this feeling. Like when his wealthy professor buddy acted like a Birmingham freedom rider when he was asked to produce ID. Yeah, the fetid racial swamp of Cambridge: black mayor, black police chief, black governor. And the cop who "acted stupidly" just happened to be he officer in charge of improving race relations on the force. Then, when Trayvon Martin was killed, the president suggested if he had a son, the boy would look like Trayvon. Yet the president's "hometown," Chicago, has seen a year long horrific wave of black on black violence which has resulted in many deaths and he has until recently been silent.

Imaginary racial epithets are cited as "evidence." Meanwhile, a retired calypso singer refers to two distinguished Americans who worked for Republican presidents as: "house n-words," and nary a peep of criticism.

48 hours seems like a long enough period of time for the Internet shut-ins on this board to respond. Lynch him! ;)

H*ll, he can have 48 days for all I care. In his mind, people who oppose this president are racists, whether they realize it or not. And America is full of people who want this "n-word impeached." He believes it, utterly. And believes he has no reason to apologize. He just "knows" it.

This repulsive racialist vomit is the flip side of David Duke.

Ever read the comments on world net daily, fox news, or other sites of that ilk? Or hell, even many local newspapers that still allow anonymous postings? The derp level is astounding. And while most will censor the n-word, not all of them do. There are numerous posts like the one he made, so its hardly outside the realm of possibility.

The freepers are probably the worst, though. If you ever want to lose faith in humanity, try reading that site for more than 5 minutes. Freerepublic.com

Right. The Universal Evil, Fox (oh, excuse me, Faux) News. What a glob of libstain horsesh*t that is. One example of them calling for his impeachment would suffice. But you can't provide it. And in your "mind" they're obviously too devious to use the "n-word" to describe him, so you can't provide an example of that, either. But you just "know" they're all thinking it, right?

Comments? From the general public? Surely you jest. In a country with a population well north of 300 million, it's probable somebody somewhere will say or has said anything. What does that prove? That there are people dumber and more extreme than you? Most of us already suspected it. Besides, someone not as dedicated to smearing people who disagree with him as you seem to be, might note that your sample size is pretty small and of insufficient breadth to be making broad generalizations. But you aren't really talking about those idiots, are you? What you really think is that anyone who opposes or disapproves of this president is a racist. Why not just admit it?

However, I do believe you troll around those toilets, obsessively looking for instances where morons use that word to describe His Imperial Majesty. Because it reinforces your world view. Doesn't it? And makes you feel all warm and justified inside. Thus, the inherent pomposity of giving someone the "benefit of the doubt" for not being a racist escapes you. Because "they" are all guilty until proven innocent. Right?

No, I make it a point not to read that sort of commentary so I'm willing to believe that your description of that fringe is accurate. It's sad. This site has all the "derp" I need already though, without subjecting myself that that stuff.

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 2 - Amensty for Some, Miniature AR-15s for Others...

So, to the question of are most conservatives/Republicans/etc scum sucking racists? Here's how I see it:

Righties don't hate Obama anymore than they hated Bill Clinton who is white as a ghost. However, when people dislike someone, they're more willing to embrace derogatory ideas about them whether they believe it or not. So for example, the # of people polled who think Obama is a Muslin, or was born in Kenya, most likely is overstating the # who actually believe that. However, if it makes a point ("I don't like the Prez") people will jump on board. A dozen years ago over 50% of Republicans polled thought Clinton had Buddy the Dog offed before it could turn informer. I have to believe most of those didn't really think the dog had evidence that would have buried the Clintons, but I'll let them speak for themselves. ;)

Now the problem is this. The GOP has been too willing to give haters a prominent voice in the party. When you give these people a platform, when they're sitting side by side with your politicians on news shows, etc you're going to be guilty by association. Far too many an elected Republican official has embraced Birtherism which is blatently racist. I doubt too many of them actually believe Obama was born in Kenya, but kissing @ ss with the people that do in order to win their votes means you own their views for better or for worse. As Jeb Bush put it in his speech to the rest of the dinosaurs the other day, the GOP is now the anti-everything party. That's fine if you're anti-tax, but when its anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, anti-gay, people will obviously start to speculate about the motivations. Don't take my word for it, just look at the party's own self-evaluation that they just published.

For example, Old Pio will often talk about violence in Chicago. How often as a Republican gone there to see first hand? How about proposing some solutions?

Fark used to have a poster who pulled quotes from freerepublic commentators just so others didn't have to give them clicks or wade through it themselves. I think she started a blog doing the same thing after fark asked her to stop for reasons still unknown.

If 2008 brought them out of the woods, 2012 sent them over the edge. These are the people who believe fully in birtherism and thought unskewedpolls.com was deserving of a nobel prize. More than a few are part of the sovereign citizen movement, too.

Something tells me I don't want to look up any of those things. :p It's like when a couple weeks ago a young person mentioned something about "Harlem style dancing" or whatever to me and I made the mistake of looking on youtube.

Rover almost made a good point, which is that the major political parties in this country are completely corrupt money machines that will say and do anything to gain more money and power for themselves, and it's time we all stopped supporting them but instead vote for individual candidates for office. Of course, many people are only willing to see or talk about one side of that coin.
