The 2nd Term - Round 2 - Amensty for Some, Miniature AR-15s for Others...

In grading congressional nincompoopery, you'd have to say Sheila Jackson Lee's famous analysis about North and South Vietnam "getting along together" is right at the top of the list. Possibly impossible to beat. However, Maxine Watters (who described the thug who smashed the white truck driver's head with a chunk of concrete during the LA riots a "freedom fighter") has evidently been working hard in the gym to make herself a contender. She says sequestration will cost "170 million jobs."

A second person, Lanny Davis, who was counsel to Bill Clinton, has come forward with a similar claim regarding the White House threatening people.

Maybe we need to pass some anti-bullying laws for the White House!

Makes you long for the more good ol days, when if the White House didn't like what you were doing, they'd send you hunting with Cheney.

Its funny because I'd be more than happy to have serious discussions with people but this Woodward story really shows how hard that is. Long after the full e-mail texts were posted out here completely disproving the WH threatening e-mail angle, Bob is still beating the drum. Should I 1) try to engage him seriously, or 2) after having already posted the full e-mail for his consumption, just have fun at his expense if he insists on continuing to bring up a descredited story? At some point you have to stop engaging people on points of absurdity.

Woodward's doubtless quaking in his boots at the prospect of you "engaging him seriously."

If any poster you don't agree with came on here and said 1 + 1 was 2, you'd start calling him a knuckledragger and say everyone knows its 3 and I win. Very serious discussion

Before the customary welter of name calling and obfuscatory rhetoric begins, let's take a little quiz. Ready?

Who said the following?

"I'll post your link for you, don't worry about that."

A. Baghdad Bob
B. Jayson Blair
C. Borat
D. Rover

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/cars-increasingly-reach-many-americans-145957880.html Good to see the Obama recovery is in full swing. I am sure another auto bailout will be right around the corner since they can't sell cars to American's now :p
Congress will pass the Personal Property Affordable Car Act which will make sure that everyone in the USA can afford a car. If you want to keep your current car, you can, but the government, through a government sponsored vehicle exchange program, will assure that every person can get a car that they can afford.

The Department of Transportation will be in charge of the program. To finance the exchanges, a tax of $2,500 per car will be imposed on households who have more cars than drivers. Also, a 1% transaction fee will be imposed on all auto repairs and auto products purchased.

Change the subject at you want, bull sh*t artist. But the fact is you got caught, ignorantly (or perhaps deliberately) proclaiming a non fact to be a fact, then promising to link to "proof", which you have yet to do. That makes you intellectually dishonest in my book. And your evasions don't make you look any better. Most people, if they made a mistake, or over stated the case would simply admit it and move on. Just man up, why don't you?

Make all the jokes you want. But the real joke here is that anyone (aside from yourself) takes you seriously. Incidentally, the only difference between the two quotes here is you actually wrote what I attributed to you. While you made up the quote you attributed to me, just like you do with so many of your "facts."

What do you expect from a Libtard? They invent facts all the time.

I was calling it for Obama well before election day. His smear tactics and non-issue campaigning worked quite well in comparison to Romney's unwillingness to take off the gloves. Sad commentary on the state of American politics, but it was pretty obvious where it was headed.

I was going to say, maybe she meant 17 million. Then as I was typing up a response, I decided to look at just how many people are currently unemployed. The latest figures from the DoL show that only 12.3 million are considered "unemployed". (Insert small text here about reported unemployment vs. true unemployment yadda yadda yadda.)

In order to be elected to Congress, I think they should have to take three tests and pass all three:
1. The test taken by immigrants to gain citizenship.
2. Psych evaluation
3. A generalized intelligence test to make sure they understand the difference between their *** and their elbow.

I think you disqualified most of the Congre$$.

Opie you're a crank, a bitter old man and a fraud. However, I've been told you have a tremendous singing voice, so I guess it all evens out. :D Like most conversations with you, ours descended into a stupidfest of which I share partial blame (75% you, 25% me I'd say) as we rehashed events that took place 50 years ago. Here is the link you seek:

Now, from it I've notice two things. 1) JFK assumed all troops would be home by X-mas '65 given proper conditions on the ground but didn't explicity order that. My bad and point for you. 2) JFK did explicity order 1000 troops home, not as a troop rotation (meaning they'd be replaced) but as a permanent action. This is backed by Johnson reversing the order. Why would he reverse a troop rotation order? So, point for me as you said it was merely a troop rotation.

I'd ask you to defend your view of Nixon's innocence, but why do I think all I'm going to get is more swearing and bile? You do understand that its not my fault you follow a dinosaur ideology, right? Most 70 year olds don't spend their day writing expletive laden tirades at total strangers on a message board.

SJL is not exactly the highlight of the Democratic delegation. Unfortunately, she's in the safest of safe districts—and will be for life, racial politics FTW!—and there's no sign of a viable intra-party challenger. (I will admit to voting for her in the general election... as much of an idiot as I find her to be, she's much more likely to vote the way I want on legislation than a GOP challenger.)
