Re: The 2nd Term - Round 1 - Diving for Dollars

Who would today be republicans thanks to the gop's southern strategy decades ago.

Yet, wasn't it the democrats who also came up with affirmative action, which is, in and of itself, racism?

I'm sure you saw the smoothie store in the other thread...

The UK being fiscally conservative? That's a laugh and a half.

Well compared to your conservative hero in North Korea maybe not (where they're big on defense spending and no so much on social spending ). However, the UK is the path some American conservatives would like us to pursue, and I say no thanks.

A path of gun control? Air control? Banishment of free thinkers such as Michael Savage? Nice try.

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 1 - Diving for Dollars

(I know, Bush's fault... sigh)

...When Bush II was using signing statements... ramble ramble
lol, hilarious. If you had been paying attention you would have caught that I predicted EXACTLY what your defense would be. Read back a little, right before your kneejerk response.

This is incredibly stupid, wrongheaded, and ignorant of the basic facts. Europe is NOT in the mess they are in because of being "too conservative." That's actually a dangerously stupid path of revisionist history to go down, because it implies you're willing to double down on complete failure (colossal debt/"stimulus" fail aka Obama '09) in order to preserve the "brand" of your national political party. Europe is in the mess they are in because they have shirked their responsibilities for generations. The moral of the story is PAY YOUR BILLS. Not to spend more "stimulus."

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 1 - Diving for Dollars

And what would that accomplish? Obummer's in, and he can't run again, so he can do anything short of a high crime or misdemeanor and they can't do a gosh darn thing about it.
I want to hear him stutter and skirt the issue

Maybe it's just me, but I don't take pleasure in people making fools of themselves. Despite my coming into these threads just to raise the blood pressure of the lefties. :D

Oh, here's a good one to add: For most of 43's executive orders, he sought Congressional approval. FDR and Obama did not, even when a majority did exist.

geezer I always cut you some slack because you're a few cans short of a six pack, but I'm about to give you a lesson. See, "Europe" is a continent made up of many countries. Of that continent, I'm speaking of Great Britain, a country governed by and under conservative principles. Pause for a moment and reread until you get up to speed.

Now, this conservative govt has launched an austerity plan that's put the country into a double digit recession, proving once again that conservative policies are total failures. I've kept this brief so that it will fit into your pea sized brain, but if you want more detail subscribe to my newsletter.

OK wise guy, what are the conservative policies you speak of?

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 1 - Diving for Dollars

And then you wonder why more women are democrats

Hey, be careful where you tread here! Larry Summers got into a whole heap of trouble for speculating that women weren't as good at math as men, you may recall.....

conservatives believe the constitution is as it's written.
liberals believe that is can be adapted to fit how they think the writers would have adjusted to modern times.

anything else is television or interest groups speaking out their anus.

I don't think English liberals or conservatives care much for our Constitution :p

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 1 - Diving for Dollars

Not like ours. Essentially, if Parliament passes a law and it receives Royal Assent, it's good. Those pesky Europeans may have an issue, but tough tooty I say!

i don't care what theirs is. and i'm not talking laws, i'm talking about the constitution to which the laws that are passed have to adhere to.
