Re: The 2nd Term - Round 1 - Diving for Dollars

THis is the saddest response yet. For any number of reasons.

He has a point, though. Even if it took Chief Justice Roberts to tell you this, but if you don't like what you're getting from Congress, vote in someone else, or better yet, run yourself.

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 1 - Diving for Dollars

I've tried. That's why it's sad. THe last two years I have voted for fewer and fewer incumbents.

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 1 - Diving for Dollars

Mookie runs for every office. He writes in his own name for 95% of the races on the ballot

Quite the opposite, actually; I am fairly stingy when it comes to money and only spend within my means. You should know by now that I do not hold water for either major party in Congress. Once you step back from the religious-like overtones of political parties and begin to think for yourself, you start to understand what is important for the country, and then we can start having some discussions on solutions. Until that time, you will remain on my ignore list.

Flaggy please. You sound like a clueless teenager regurgitating something he heard on talk radio. The idea that you don't support one political party over the other isn't fooling anybody, and as I've told you before guys like Dick Morris and Karl Rove get paid big bucks to humiliate themselves on TV regularly. I'm not sure what you get out of humiliating yourself out here unless you also are being paid to do so, although I don't see why that would be. :D

PS - you most likely are stingy with money because you have no significant other and live with your parents and don't have a job! Get back to us when spending money is actually an option for you.

You know what this p*ssing fest sounds like? A spendaholic wife and a husband who refused to pay the credit cards when they come calling for money. It's a matrimony made in hell between these two parties.
You're forgetting that the husband ran up his share of the bills too, but still refuses to pay the credit cards.

Well of course the husband is responsible for paying the mortgage, insurance, car pmts... You know, all the required stuff that ain't no fun!!

Duh, no chit!

It's always amazing how quickly these "equal rights activists" give up once they find out that they would need to assume some responsibility...

It works all the time. DHS is an example of kneejerkism. It's amazing what you can pass when you play on people's emotions.

No need to pass anything with the strategy of dicta... um, executive orders (I know, Bush's fault... sigh)

Good news! The main principle held by our executive is "emotional kneejerkism" as a governing strategy, without any regard to our nation's Constitution, laws, or the future damaging effects of said feelgood kneejerkism.

I like it. When Bush II was using signing statements to disavow the very laws he just ok'd, people like geezer were praising his brilliance. Now the shoe is on the other foot and they can't understand why peasants aren't taking to the streets with pitchforks and torches.

See, what you knucks' are struggling with is a Prez who is laughing in the face of GOP obstructionism. You guys tried that over the past 4 years and it didn't work. Maybe you need a new tactic? People want action. All of this stuff is legal and you're free to take it to court. Go get 'em O I say.

Barack Obama on the national debt:

Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. Raising the debt ceiling constitutes a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better. I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America's debt limit.

Yup, he really did say that......in 2006.

The debt is higher now, deficits are far bigger as a % of GDP as they've been since WWII, and so the situation is even more dire now than then, right?

That was then, this is now. I'd like to see one person from the MSM ask him about that.

And what would that accomplish? Obummer's in, and he can't run again, so he can do anything short of a high crime or misdemeanor and they can't do a gosh darn thing about it.

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 1 - Diving for Dollars

I always like to bring it home with a real life comparison of conservative policies vs liberal ones.

Conservative policy in action today: Great Britain. Result: Double dip recession due to austerity policies.

Liberal policy in action today: United States. Result: 2.5% GDP growth.

End. Of. Story.

Re: The 2nd Term - Round 1 - Diving for Dollars

Any day now, the bond vigilantes are going to bring down the U.S. and the austerity fairy is going to kickstart Britain's economy.
