Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

Congratulations to the Maine men's hockey team on their academic success this past semester. I counted 18 who earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher. There were also freshmen listed which is always a good sign. Nice job!:)

Banwell is a physical presence, he can clear the net front, but not when playing forward. Besides he might take a penalty

That's what I meant. You're thin on defense, Banwell is about the only guy back there you could call a physical player, so why waste him at forward when you've got a couple different guys you can stick in there?

TIMMAY's a frickin' genius, I tell ya. Why don't we just put Nyquist on D?

Oh pher gawd sakes....didjou know what I meant ??? :) You guyz need an enema.;)

Seriously, Timster said as much in a tv interview,.....he's simply trying to get Banwells scoring touch back.....dont shoot the messenger man.:p

And again, why do you need a defenseman to score? Hasn't Dimmen been pretty much taking care of that all by himself?

You wanna get him 'untracked' TIMMAY, keep him in the lineup every night, instead of this Cornell/Banwell swap.

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

I've been to just about every home game this year and I have to wonder just what Whitehead is thinking moving players around like he has been. The defense seems way out of sync and really slow right now. The chemistry looked alot better earlier in the season. They either need to find a way to gain some speed and chemistry or it will be a quick exit from the Hockey East playoffs and another postseason of watching 16 other teams in the national tournament.

Having Sirman should be huge

FWIW I was referring to the 3 returning players collectively.

Having Mangene and Carriere in the fray should limit the shuffling of lines that seems to be a hot topic of late and return us to the combinations from early in the year. Couple that with the addition of Sirman and you have a huge spark to a team that needs added depth at all positions during the stretch run.

I agree that getting Mangene and Carriere back would be huge.

Does Merrimack sell out often? I've never been to a game there. Thinking of heading in Saturday, should I buy before going or just show up?

I've never had a problem, but they are getting much better attendence this year from what I've read. Very small barn so you may want to buy ahead of time but odds are you'll be able to get a ticket. Every game I've been to there the Maine fans way out numbered the Mack fans.

Re: The 2nd official 09-10 Maine season thread

So is it a good thing Merrimack just got it handed to them 7-0 last night?

Will we encounter a hungry team that rebounds well or a deflated team after a bad loss and short week?

The Mack is awful on the road and stellar at home so I tend to think the latter. Maine best bring their A game. Play like they did last Sat. and you can pencil in the L.

Dacosta did not play last night for the Mack, not sure if he would have made that big of a difference in that game the way BC was playing, but having him out certainly did not help Merrimack. As ck pointed out, they are very good at home this year. I would expect they come out ready to play after being embarrased last night.

MC has a great web site that allows you to pick your seats. It even shows you what end of the ice Merrimack attacks twice.Very helpful.Down side is the $2.83 "convenience charge"/ticket that etix sticks on,a la TicketBastard.

My concern is the foot of snow that might fall into Friday AM.

Everytime I've gone it was kinda sit where you want type of deal on the Maine side. Maybe the seats were reserved but it seemed nobody cared. Just find an open bleacher seat and there you are.
