The 2015 Poser of the Year Contest

Re: The 2015 Poser of the Year Contest

Easy enough to test. If you vote for yourself you're campaigning. Like I said, I do. It's the Greatest Dubious Honor there is. :-)

I have no idea what mookie's doing the other 11 months of the year, so I can't judge whether his annual Spring Fling is a campaign or just the call of the wild.

During this time of year, he's toying with his food a bit more than usual over on the D-I board, but that's more related to the other tournament than this one. :)

Re: The 2015 Poser of the Year Contest

I don't see anything weird about this at all.

My standard is, "you have made an interesting contribution." It might be good or bad. Y'all know who you are. :-)

Somebody could post a hundred times a day but say nothing -- no vote. Somebody could post once a month and deliver a Platonic ideal of wisdom (or idiocy) -- oh hell yeah, they get a vote.

Interestingly, last year, two years after winning, I got a total of three votes and didn't make it out of the first round. (Sounds like Union College. ) This year I am currently tied for the lead in my group.

BTW, in the heydays of the Association threads, I used to post about a hundred times a day and say nothing. :D

I remember those days.:p

You are the this guy of the Cafe.

Re: The 2015 Poser of the Year Contest

I have yet to tweet and mainly use it to keep track of RPI recruits.

I'm actually pretty sure that's a numbers station and they just haven't figured it out.

Of course, your Association posts could be the same thing!

Re: The 2015 Poser of the Year Contest

How is that even possible? If you assume he sleeps 6 hours a night, that's a tweet every 4 seconds for six and a half years.

IF you read further into the article, it turns out that it was more like 10 tweets per second continuously for over one month, day and night.

Twitter Counter stats show that the world’s top tweeter did all the heavy lifting within a 40-days-and-40-nights stretch ... accounting for 96 percent of his tweets

37,771,000 * 96% / 40 / 24 / 3,600 = 10.5 tweets per second.

Re: The 2015 Poser of the Year Contest

He must have had a bot or two creating single-character tweets.

Re: The 2015 Poser of the Year Contest

Only about 24 hours to get your votes in for round 1. Top 8 in each bracket qualify for round 2.

Re: The 2015 Poser of the Year Contest

I just have to ask this. Why would somebody vote for him/herself for POSER of the year??
