Hell of an entertaining game tonight. Congrats to BC!

That goal by Kreider was unbelievable.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

Loved the Saponari hat trick tonight. Misfired on three wide open nets. Then Parker for some inexplicable reason keeps running him out there on the power play instead of doing the right thing and threatening to cut his nuts off is he blows a sure goal one more time.

brought a bc pal tonight. he asked, "what's up with that kid?" :(

very good game by bc tonight. got the two lucky goals, got two great skill goals. loved gibbons getting hit at center ice and gettin himself up and searching out the biggest kid in white to run. nice set on that kid. the kreider goal was beautiful to watch. warso's was nice too and it's too bad his comes in 2nd on the highlight film. almeida had a nice shot just inside the post to score. shattenkirk as well.

oh well, bu has split the four games with a solid team. (too bad our top four defensemen don't have the bc forwards to play with.. that would make a dangerous team)

I pray that MWade caught Gibbon's hit on Gryba. That was four years of pent up aggression from all of that traffic cone's thuggery.

absolutely

seeing gryba chasing down the ref after getting hit by a 5-8 player was hilarious

was very happy to see gravallese and benedetto as they are the best hockey east has to offer in tandem in terms of experience/competence.

good win for bc. gaining momentum for the stretch run. sights now set on regular season title.

Great game BU! You have to respect BU's effort and near-comeback. I have zero doubt that they are going to put on a hell of a run in the second half here. I hope we don't run into them again.

Onward and upward BC!

absoultely, you can never count'em out. i am just having a difficult time figuring out how the Terriers are below .500..............they are one hell of a team. i read someone comment about hitting the post twice, can someone clear that up for me? who and when? thanks

Is that what you fanboys mean by 'Gryba smash'? It's the 2nd Tuesday in February so... happy grounddog day to all you fansies.

No, that's what we call "contact to the head- roughing."

Congrats to BC for making the most of their opportunities (and yes, the Kreider goal was unbelievable) and making sure that the game was pretty much out of reach early in the 3rd. If only Saponari could have buried one of those chances, BU might have actually pulled that off.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

except the part where he didnt make contact with gryba's head. but i'm sure you were here telling us how warsofsky's vicious crosscheck against NU was a dive.

maybe next year, bu.

I certainly didn't make any excuses for Warsofsky's hit last week, and I'm not sure what that has to do with anything from last night.

Anyway, BC definitely deserved to win the game, no sour grapes here. But that was a very bad non-call.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

Gibbons' hit, just like Gryba's hit on Gerbe three years ago, was the kind of hit you *love* to see in a game of hockey. Hard, clean, open-ice, and against the right target. Shoulder into the chest. Textbook clean hit. That was easily one of my favorite parts of the game.

Reminded me of Andrew Ference for the Bruins laying out Steve Ott of Dallas last year. Same kind of open ice wrecking.

Followed by what you BC fans refer to as "Jack whining." We got a power play a minute later, must have gotten their attention.

Congrats to BC, well played game, but you should probably go on a mini slump so you can get hot in time for the tourney. Don't want to peak yet. ;)

I think in this case, it was "Jack assaulting." I wonder if he'll get a suspension from Hockey East for grabbing Gravellese... nah!!!!!!!!

And you're right, his outburst probably helped get that call a minute later. No surprise there. That's why everyone hates Parker (and the fact that he's a drunk).

I would agree with that.

For the other fanboy, I really didn't think Gibbons went anywhere near Gryba's head (I don't think he could have reached). Solid contact to the body. Late hit? I thought so. The stripes didn't. File that under 'What goes around comes around' and pray it doesn't keep coming around to offset the last 15 years of absurdity everyone has had to witness.

the penalty called after jack's nutty was legit. dumb play by cross; textbook interference. that said, since hpgunner is blaming the refs - abuse of officials, and interfering with their performance of duty, is a bench minor that went uncalled.

They're under 500 because they can't hit a wide open net to save their @ sses. This game was typical in that they blew way too many golden opportunities and it proved fatal in a one goal game. These are set ups that Wilson, Yip, etc bury last year but the Saponaris of the world send wide constantly.

The D looked bad too, but as the announcers correctly said they were scoring for every one they gave up (several atrocious breakdowns by Shatty, Escobido and Fidel).

Also, I doubt Gryba was too broken up about the hit and would be more than happy to give the BC player a beating behind the arena after the game if he did. Most likely he was trying to get a call since BU desperately needed a power play, which is smart hockey.
