Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

Colby Cohen is now a gametime decision. He'll participate in the pregame skate, and they'll make a decision after that.

Given what we've heard to this point, this is as hopeful as we could have expected. Thanks for the update FL.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

This thread is pretty boring considering it's the day of the Beanpot championship. Wow did the BC/BU fans wear themselves out already.

Tiny has been AWOL and Joe has less to say then normal. SteveF is the only one talking any trash. Geezzz.

Let me help you guys out here :

My prediction BU wins. 5-4 OT on a controversial goal that has Crybaby nation in full force tomorrow morning. It's BU, It's the Beanpot, and It's televised.....all that adds up to a BC loss.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

BC wins 4-1. Too much firepower, too little Colby.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

BC will be too much regardless of BU's defensive improvements. BC's defense won't fare much better, but the offensive disparity will be on display since the Eagles come into this one clickin'.

BC 5, BU 3.

Beanpot MVP - Ben Smith (once and again BU killer), 2G 1A tonight.
Eberle - Rawlings (NU)

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

Let me congratulate you guys ahead of time tonight before I head out to pick up a feverish rugrat.

Congrats to BU for winning YOUR 2010 national championship. And Happy Grounddog Day tomorrow to you all as well.

I've seen this show enough times to know BU is going win this thing in a close one (gotta be overtime), BC will probably have some goals disallowed, but it's par for the course when playing BU in their national title tournament. I've become numb to the whole thing since it happens again and again.

Once again, congrats to BU for winning the title.

Nick, you're becoming as repetitive as calihockeyfan on this one.

At least mine isn't a poorly written mess and I'm not pimping out a piece of crap on another link.

Tomorrow will be fun. We'll have the York apologists in here citing a near .500 record against Parker as a reason for why Parker doesn't own York, despite another favored Eagles team bending over and taking it in the rear end from an inferior Terriers squad.

But that's for tomorrow.

love hearing the "Beanpot is BU's national championship" line, especially after winning our fifth national title last year

anyway, is this year's Beanpot just not that popular? Tickets were still available on ticketmaster earlier today and the price on stubhub has come way down. I hope we have a good crowd tonight so it feels like a big event... obviously it won't match the atmosphere of that Fenway game but I'm worried that this BU-BC domination is hurting the tournament.

Check out my new Beanpot feature for a look at what Kevin Shattenkirk's day will be like, starting when he waked up around now.

"waked up"?

Scott, no offense, but didn't you, like, write a whole book?

(I tease, because I enjoyed the book, of course)

Wait, are you actually insinuating in some regard that York should be fired? Generally coach apologists pop up when talk of getting someone new comes up. That would probably be the single stupidest decision ever made by an NCAA hockey program.

Re: The 2010 Beanpot: Featuring One Team Under Consideration

Is anybody else here? 14 left in the 1st and I think I could actually count the number of people in the crowd if I tried enough.

Just heard an audible Harvard cheer for the first time in my life... I know Beanpot consolation games are poorly attended, especially those of the NU-Harvard sort but... really?

I'm here. You know it's empty when you can hear everything the players are yelling on the ice... from the press box on level 9.

Also, I know there were some people wondering a few pages back about how the home teams are picked. Here's the deal: The home teams for the first round are determined by a coin flip. The home teams for the second round are the two teams who played the 8 pm game in the first round.

That is quite strange.

Ayla Brown with the national anthem. And we're off...
