The 2009 Division 2 Football thread - Or How I Still HATE Minnesota-Duluth!!

Re: The 2009 Division 2 Football thread - Or How I Still HATE Minnesota-Duluth!!

Don't get so excited. He's like one of the more well known attributes of NMU girls--goes away for a while, but then there's another outbreak.

Don't ruin my dreams! I never want GVSU to win. This would be the one exception. :p

Re: The 2009 Division 2 Football thread - Or How I Still HATE Minnesota-Duluth!!

Id rather watch NMU Hockey take down the top ranked Redhawks

True. But, for me it would also mean visiting my sister at GV and seeing my mom's team compete at regionals.

I have signed up 5 times and emailed the admins about 4 times. They still haven't responded or set me up yet. The guy that runs the site is really cool, his name is Brandon.

Bigmrg over there is the equivalent of Dirty on this site, only much more intelligent.

Maybe they just don't like Billy Blanks. That's hard to imagine.

They've probably read your posts over here...

Re: The 2009 Division 2 Football thread - Or How I Still HATE Minnesota-Duluth!!

It's nice to see, that's for sure.

GVSU plays Tiffin tonight. I'm betting we see triple digits in that game.
Probably could have but why pad our stats. Tiffin was starting to get low on live bodies last night. A few more and they might have needed to send in the Waterboy.

NMU has to be ranked in this poll and I expect us to be ranked in the top 20 in the national poll!!!
Baby steps Billy, Baby Steps. Your SOS is still pretty low, so you might be around 12 for the regional rankings, and you just might make HM for the Coaches poll. Depends on who notices. The D2F poll really doesn't do HM, but a win next weekend for sure should get NMU into the top 25 there.

If it wasn't raining so hard we probably would have won by three touchdowns.

I still think we'll beat GVSU, we are on a mission this year!:D
The Unicorns sneeze gumdrops, crap snickers bars, and **** lemonade in your world don't they??

This is good news as NMU really only has one semi-tough game left until GVSU. So when they get destroyed by the Lakers, BB will be gone! Hooray!
Not really, they got Wayne State and Joique Bell at home. Bell is agrueably the best running back in Detroit since Barry Sanders, and an early frontrunner for the Harlon Hill Award(D2's Heisman). Best way to keep him from scoring is to keep him off the field.

Last I saw UMD was up on MSU-Moorhead 41-0.........in the first quarter!!!!
Final score
MSU Moorhead 7
Minnesota-Duluth (9) 76
UMD should move up!!!

Send me what screenname and email you last used, I'll talk to B or one of the other admins there and see if you can't get set up.

Re: The 2009 Division 2 Football thread - Or How I Still HATE Minnesota-Duluth!!

Might was well do the scoring updates.....

Assumption 34
Pace 26
-Strong passing attack gets the Greyhounds past the Setters.

Northern Michigan 23
Saginaw Valley (13) 20
- Northern starting to look legit now. Tough home game next weekend with Wayne State coming north.

Ashland 40
Wayne State (Mi.) 47
- Joique Bell continues his assult on the rushing record books. Argueably the best running back in Detroit since Barry Sanders.

Saint Anselm 14
American International 17
- AIC holds off a late rally to get the win.

Bentley 12
Merrimack 14
- Defense came up big for the Warriors in this game. Held Bentley to only Field Goals. MC, at 4-1, could very well be included in the tea leaves when the first regional rankings are released tuesday.

St. Cloud State 38
Bemidji State 27
- Good game from the QB gets SCSU a win here, and improves to 3-3 on the year.

Nebraska-Omaha 34
Emporia State 13
- A fast start by the Mavs lead to this win here.

MSU Moorhead 7
Minnesota-Duluth (9) 76
-UMD should move up!!!!

Mercyhurst 16
Slippery Rock 17
- The Lakers of Erie fail to stop the comeback by Slippery Rock.

Hillsdale (24) 17
Findlay 42
- A big win by the oilers to keep them in the top half of the GLIAC. Somebody else that could be in the playoff Tea Leaves.

Augustana 6
Minnesota State (8) 36
-With this win the Mavericks move to 6-0, the first time they've been 6-0 since 1926.

Michigan Tech 38
Ferris State 6
- MTU moves out of the GLIAC Basement, and into the first floor. As for Ferris, well, I would expect them to be shopping for a new coach soon.

Wow. That was enough to kick SVSU out?
It's nice to have received votes, for sure.

The polls can be pretty volitile this time of year. Everybody has given up on believing their preseason picks and faves that have not produced like they thought they would, and now you're just getting to where maybe about half of all D2 teams have little chance at being one of the lucky 24 teams left playing at the end of the season. Another 2 weeks and the voters will have a better idea of who is good.

That is complete garbage! SVSU has 2 losses and one of them was to us! We beat them on their home field and we aren't even in the top 10 regionally? *** are these voters thinking?!?!

I think we will trounce Wayne State this weekend. Bell hasn't faced a defense like NMU's this year.

NMU 33
WSU 19

And who have we beat other than SVSU? Calm down... These rankings will change greatly over the next 6 weeks... If we are good enough and deserving, we will end up there anyways... Just take things one step at a time and worry about WSU...

I get waaaaay to excited about my teams.

I'm probably the biggest homer when it comes to this. Are you familiar with BCON on the D2 board?
