Re: The 2009 Division 2 Football thread - Or How I Still HATE Minnesota-Duluth!!
Scores on the weekend.
Friday night 7 pm.
American International 20
Bentley 30
- Bentley stays perfect so far on the gridiron. The Falcons look to be a safe bet for the playoffs at this juncture of the season. Only tough game on the their schedule looks to be a home game against Southern Conn.
Saturday Noon.
Northwood 0
Findlay 14
-Findlay is among a handful of teams in the GLIAC that are right now in the hunt for second place and a playoff birth. Next weekend games are all going to have an important say in that matter.
1 pm.
Stonehill 16
New Haven 23
- New Haven scores a last minute touchdown to beat the Skyhawks in their first ever meeting.
Merrimack 41
Saint Anselm 31
- The Warriors are still in the hunt in the NE-10, but they have some tough games left to play yet.
1:30 pm
Wayne State (Mi.) 38
Tiffin 8
- WSU is another GLIAC team that's still in the playoff hunt.
2 pm
Mercyhurst 19
Lock Haven 7
- The move to the PSAC has diffidently paid off for the Lakers of Erie.
Minnesota-Crookston 13
MSU Moorhead 24
- The State of Minnesota could do itself a favor and save a lot of money if they closed down Crookston.
St. Cloud State 57
Upper Iowa 10
- The Huskies from St. Cloud got off to a rough start this year, but seem to be bouncing back now. Having back to back games where you rush for over 550 yards tends to help a lot.
Minnesota State (8) 34
Winona State 13
-The Land Cows snap Winona's 35 game NSIC home winning streak and 19-game overall winning streak.
3 pm
Nebraska-Omaha 44
Missouri Southern 36
- The Red Mavs hold off the Lions in a barn-burner to get their first road win of the year.
3:30 pm
Minnesota-Duluth (9) 35
Mary 7
- You cannot hope to stop Isaac Odim, you can only hope to slow him down. Too bad for Mary they forgot to do any of that.
Bemidji State 42
Northern State 20
- Beavers roll past Northern State. A home date against Duluth in a few more weeks could have major playoff implications within the region.
4 pm
Ferris State 0
Northern Michigan 34
- I've already accounted for how NMU has been beating up on the lower end of the GLIAC so far this season. The big question is how much longer with the Athletic Department at FSU continue to allow Coach Pierce to continue to receive a paycheck from Ferris.
6 pm
Grand Valley (1) 55
Michigan Tech 7
- Grand Valley rolls and gives their second string guys some reps. Pity that the injury bug hasn't quite left Houghton just yet.
